Furlough Estimates

Not sure why you quoted me here, the two statements aren't related in any way. While an interesting point, that's an entirely different political discussion.
Ah, I’m merely saying that he’s part of (perhaps even stoking the fires of) the distraction. I worry about the apparat as well.

Does that mean they will accept those 900? AA has way more applications than acceptance for our early outs. It’s 100% managements choice on how many they accept.

Per the LOA

“VEOP awards will be by seniority order within category among eligible pilots who elect to apply for the VEOP during the application period. An eligible pilot will be awarded the VEOP unless the pilot’s vacancy cannot be backfilled by January 1, 2022 due to training limitations, as determined in collaboration between the Company and ALPA.”

Disney is rumored to be cancelling TLJ and rebooting Star Wars ..........
That headline was meant to push my buttons, the discussion is about removing Kathleen Kennedy, putting in Marvels Feigi in charge and getting rid of the whole 3 of them. New Luke, new Leia, new Han. Move into a whole new direction like TLJ. I don't think I ever appreciated the trouble Kennedy caused firing directors and the near magic way Feigi kept the storyline on track in the Marvel story. He's ready to be done with her. Her managing style may have worked 15 years ago, but next to better long form tv drama that lack of care has been eclipsed.

And, uhmmm, something about Furloughs.

Don’t want to be the bearer of bad news but United released an SEC filing that shows a decrease in Net bookings (new bookings - canceled bookings). They attribute it to the northeast quarantine restrictions and increase in covid cases. I think this is going to be a long erratic recovery. Also interesting is they show revenue trailing demand recovery by about 9-10 points. Stuff to factor in when considering all of our future.

You're not breaking news, don't feel bad. It's going to be a furlough at a lot of places without a bailout.

The other day there was a post by the local news about some new construction. The comments were depressing. “I hope it’s something nice like a Golden Corral.”
That’s the same way people think where I live in Central Washington! So many people say they want great Italian food from Olive Garden. I just want to strangle many people but the cost of living and location to large metropolitan areas makes me stay civil.

Have you been to Andantes in Chelan? It's too fancy for me but many people think it's the best place in town.

No, I haven’t been. We will be in Chelan at the end of July and beginning of August. We might have to give it a try if they open their dining room again. Italian food isn’t the same if you take it home. There is surprisingly a really good place called La Cucina di Sophia in Soap Lake that we like to go to. I haven’t had a bad dish yet.

Honest question, how do airlines survive this? I wasn’t around for the two previous downturns but I try and be as educated as possible on the outcomes. A business isn’t designed to weather essentially zero revenue for an indefinite amount of time. Thoughts?
