Father-Son crew

I flew on Delta on Monday ATL-CLT and had a Father-Son CPT/FO flying. I thought that was pretty cool. Has anyone else heard of a family crew, husband-wife, or other? Just curious.

I flew with my dad once in a jet. He said nothing the whole time just check lists and small talk. After landing he looks at me and says you were off 5 knots on that approach. And landed long. Gets out of the seat and says I'll meet you inside. And I was the PIC. I guess 25 years of Marine aviation does not just go away in retirement.

That was my plan, but the old man is retired now and I am corporate. We are talking about doing our seaplane ratings together which now sounds way more fun and rewarding!

From the CRM dynamic, I'd think it might not be the best thing that a father-son be paired up IMO.

I would think that the safety department vetted this one. Plus, why? If Dad is an a** to his son he is probably an a** to other FOs. And bad grumpy captains don't get these gifts.

Closest I ever got was I gave my Dad a BFR right after I got my CFI. That was a pretty special day. (He barely passed ).
