Father-Son crew

Dad is 53 at DL. I'm 22 applying for the regionals in a few months. Maybe in 12 years I'll make it to DL. That would be cool! He still keeps his CFIs active and usually on my days off from instructing or when it's crappy weather out we'll go fly together and meet my sister for lunch in CT.

Closest family member I have to flying is my wife's grandfather, used to be an instructor way back when. Hasn't flown in 20 or so years but he loves talking flying with me.

I wish I had a family member to share the journey with, everyone in my family is an attorney and understandably disappointed.

Not really. I honestly don't understand the issue with flying with one's parent or it being a CRM issue.
Exactly, both pilots are there for a reason. I think they can handle it in a professional manner.
What do you expect to happen @mshunter ? Have you ever flown with a close friend? Or is that bad too?

"Hey Dad I'm not gonna run any checklists or anything, that cool?" I'm pretty sure I'd get my ass kicked if I did that. You can totally say ass here BTW.
