Envoy FO Training

People with SJS are funny.

Maybe, but if your career and QOL is tied to a particular airplane and there is no way to get off a certain category, there are better options out there.

We had that problem at XJT. 'I want to be Atlanta based.' 'That's cool dawg, but youre a newhire so we are going to put you on the ERJ, so tough cookies.'

Bye Felicia.

Ehhhhh Don't think it's that simple. Dfw E145 rsv time is 3-4 years still.. Whereas you can take the 175, be based in DFW and have every single new hire class underneath you from here on out. You'll make more money and have better QOL if you're on the E175 for the time being. Yeah when they park enough 145s/CRJs that they have to start displacing, then you'll have people moving in above you, but might as well take advantage of the short term QOL bump.

It may be SJS, but it's a reality these days. With so many options to fly an E-jet with decent pay, why go to an airline that pays you less to fly the 145 or CRJ. But what do I know, I chose the only airline that has the q400 and less pay than the airline flying 175's for the same carrier :)

Especially since a company like Envoy I've heard has a very rigorous and thorough training program. Only thing you'll really need on day one is a good attitude and the will to learn. Everything else will fall into place!
I would describe the American Eagle Airlines, excuse me, Envoy Air EMB-145 training program as the second-best training I've ever had beyond the initial qualification program at my Current Employer® for the EMB-175. (I have had two other long-term training events, for reference.)

I may be a jerk for having my wife do this, but I tell her not to tell me about things that may stress me out while I'm in training or on the road and either handle them herself or give me a list when I'm done. My goal is to learn or not kill myself and others because I'm worried about a pipe bursting or the washing machine not working at home.

I recommend American Home Shield, she calls them & they dispatch someone out to fix it... $45 per month. $75 each time someone is dispatched out to fix basically ANYTHING (no additonal cost). If it can't be fixed, its replaced for free. Great peace of mind to have home insurance.

Luckily things that bad don't happen often to require something like that plus we have relationships with a lot of maintenance people in town.

What are the next class coming for envoy
175 ? Or crj ?
What are the chances to get e 175 for new hires

If you'd like to be based at ORD it looks like a new hire could have a darn good shot at the 175

I just want 175 , base don t really matter i still have to move to dfw or ord

What makes you want the 175, so bad? Yes, it's a nice plane. But there's a very good possibility, that you could also be displaced too. Back to the 145 or CRJ, that you're hoping to avoid.

I just like the plane e175
I just want to know what are getting as option new hire ?
New hiring ? Class ? And dates ?

I think that there is a VERY good chance of you getting it. ENVY, knows that putting butts in 175's seats, is what's bringing people to the table, and barely filling classes. And not money, and associated benefits...

So they're kind of almost exclusively offering them to new hires, when available.

I thought that the 175's, were only based in DFW?
They just posted a vacancy bid for ORD 175 today. Also, as FOs we can be displaced from one type of aircraft to another, but we can't bid for another aircraft unless it is for captain upgrade.
So it looks like we'll find out how many spots are open in ORD on it after the bid closes, I'm sure there will be a few DFW 175 people that will opt for Chicago.

Yeah, I read that people were stating that if they don't get the 175, they weren't showing up for class. Also on another site, I read that when CFI's didn't get the 175, they resigned.
I know few to many who picked Compass for that reason. I wasn't aware so many of my colleagues in a PA-28 knew the difference between a E145/E175/CRJ...

I even heard it at Skywest Cadet program...people were saying if they don't get the 175, they'll go elsewhere. I enjoy it, honestly. Makes me chuckle :bounce:

Some things though, Compass is a far better airline, for many reasons. With only some 900+ pilots. Versus Envoy's 2000+, makes for a quicker upgrade. Also I continue to read that due to Compasses quality of training, they're pilots are in very high demand with the legacies.

People should be bidding the CRJ, at SKYW. Because the 175, is reserve hell.
