Envoy Air - American's LARGEST Regional Carrier

One of the joys of a small 135 shop was “well since you have an ATP we’ll stuff you through SimCom recurrent instead of initial and figure the rest out later” lol. Made the 293 and 297 checks in the airplane with the FSDO POI really exciting running a worn out /45 or BE9L. I don’t miss those days
I will say, for all that FSI had it’s flaws, overall it was significantly better than the average 135 “fill out this written test while I'm in a meeting and we’ll squeeze in your ride before the daily conference call at noon” training program and I will give my previous employer the credit they are due for using the sim centers almost exclusively.

For a long time I wasn’t sure if this dude Dacuj was trolling or “just off his rocker”. After the statement he made about being a veteran because he was in a Vietnam war reenactment and that picture he posted I think it’s clear he’s a troll. A very funny troll though.

Also I worked at Envoy when they were still American Eagle. We all knew we were second class citizens compared to mainline. No one I knew imagined they were at AA.
I've never claimed military SERVICE. I have a military background due to the 6 months I spent at the production company SPECIFICALLY only doing Vietnam war reenactments. So, I'm not a Veteran but I do have much more military knowledge than your average Joe out there who never served.

In fact, recently riding home on my company's jump and both the CA and FO had prior service and were discussing where they served. I thanked them for their service and the CA asked if I had prior service. I simply stated that I had an Army military background and that was the end of it.

Let me tell you that you are flat wrong. At this production company, they were very insistent on having things done EXACTLY the way they were in the Army. My indoc was a week long course where I was taught all about Army structure, rank, uniforms and battlefield tactics. We wore real honest to goodness uniforms right down to military issue boots. So, yes, I do have an Army military background and it's far and above just an average civilian with no military experience.

After getting "to production," think of it as getting online after OE, we practiced and practiced again including marching, formations, flanking the enemy along with pincer style attacks. We employed these on many of our reenactments and I'm proud to say I was part of the largest Vietnam War reenactment ever with over 450 participants. It was a night staged battle scene where two companies of NVA and one company of VC overran the firebase our platoon was holding. Outside of the real thing, it was a real as it gets and to be quite honest I suffered nightmares for weeks after that particular one due to the ferocity of the charge against us.

One week, civilian indoc, pales greatly in comparison to the six week bootcamp. In the Army, Navy and Air Force. Or the twelve week bootcamp, the Marines do.

Do you get the free terminal parking at DFW, too?
