I have a question that is silly but… my analytical mind is over thinking it, and I just want to know if anyone else has had the same experience. Last time I applied my application status changed to “Class Filled” and I got a fairly nice email that said “Can we keep in touch? Even though it didn’t work out feel free to set alerts for future jobs and apply again”.
This time my status changed quickly to “Not Selected to Move On” and then I received a TBNT couple days ago that sounded much more firm and just said “You were not selected. We wish you the best in your career”…
So my question is, is there a difference between the responses and status changes? Again probably way over thinking but to me “Class Filled” sounds like maybe I was a runner-up last time. I say this because my resume was passed along all the way up until they made offers. Even though I heard others got TBNT already. I kept receiving positive emails that they were moving me along right up through March of this year. So Class Filled to me sounds like maybe I was a backup, but they filled the class and there you go. This time I was dropped quickly, and to me the response sounds worse. It almost sounds like they’re saying look… We’re not picking you so find somewhere else to go lol.
Has anyone else had the same experience? Is there an actual difference between the two responses or the two status changes? Or is it the same difference, just worded differently from two different HR people with two different styles? It’s also confusing and a major disappointment to get those emails for 8 months last time, but then be dropped so quickly this time.
I feel like I’m online dating again… Going so well and then bam, nothing. Was it something I said?
TIA
