DL/AA how will they contact for interview

Well, if you're really curious and you have a contact number, they probably wouldn't mind you calling for an update. I mean, I wouldn't be calling on a weekly basis or anything but a follow-up call to touch base doesn't hurt either. I waited several months after my interview before getting hired at my current carrier and I called once or twice to get a status update on what was happening.

That doesn't mean $h1t apparently now a days. I called my assigned HR Rep 5 weeks after my interview with UA about a year ago. Chick told me "The Hiring Manager should be making calls soon, and he'll also call on whether you got it or not. And if you didn't he'll give you the reason why you didn't get the position". Guess what? Never got that call. Lady straight lied to me. It's disgusting what what these majors do to people. They want people to bend over in front of them so they can do us while they say "tell me how much you want to work for me!". It's inexcusable. Period. I agree with most of the folks in here that think its unprofessional. How hard is it to attach everyone that did not get the positions in a mass email and just write a little. Your playing with people's livelihood and overall everyday lives.

Yeah, I have been fairly unimpressed with several of my post-interview experiences over the years. In all of my aviation job hunting, while I did get generic emails and/or letters a few times saying "no", I was only called to be told I didn't get the position once. I had already figured it out by that point but it was polite of them. It's too bad that is the exception in this industry rather than the rule.

I've called maybe three times since the interview and the same answer every time. Once we know something we will email you. So im trying to get in contact but seems like they know little in HR as well

Anyone have any update as to what they are doing to the candidates that havent gotten a response yet?
January class or what?

For what its worth, I know of someone who has already completed medical and is not in the december class.

thats confusing bro, do you mean drug tested, and is he attending an earlier class
or just waiting around for jan?

The people in the December class for AA have already been confirmed. If the person has been sent for his/her medical then it is for a later class, probably late January. But they may not get an exact start date until the drug test, medical and security check have all cleared.

Didnt know about the medical required..guess that means ppl are getting notified or its done

I'll go ahead and make the obligatory bi-weekly "Has anyone heard anything?" post.

For those of us who have not heard anything I would imagine this ship may have already sailed... though I still have some hope remaining.

I had two coworkers get the TBNT last week, after waiting for two months. If I had to guess the January class either isn't happening, or they are going to go with mostly Eagle and internals again. I am not sure if the merger or the US opening has anything to do with this though.

There is no word of January class over at Eagle, so they are def not going that route. Probably holding off for now.

Hello Jet (and everyone else),
No word for me either. I keep wondering if I made the cut or not....

No word yet for me either. Wonder if after Dec 9th a decision will be considered. I heard the payscale for AA/USAirways Pilots goes up on 9th. Wonder if that is AA company wide?

Eagle might not be the best choice at this point. Now that the BK and merger stuff is being converted from pencil to pen some of the Eagle folks are starting to get a clearer understanding of their role in the new American.

And what role would that be?

Word is that some management folks at Eagle have been informed that their services are soon to be no longer required, which on the surface doesn't affect the rank and file, but from a historical standpoint it's a bad sign. Consider also the removal of scope in the new contracts, the increase in outsourcing regional lift and the mean reduction in slots at high volume airports that was required to placate the Feds and get them to agree to the deal and you have a recipe that would give me pause. AMR has a lot of assets tied up in Eagle that could be reallocated to increase its large jet flying, and with the consolidation of slots at the "bread and butter" NY Met airports they can't be having 70 seat departures every 15 minutes like in the "old days".

I understand that nothing will be said officially until it's time but I just can't imagine Eagle being shutdown completely. Eagle is still such a huge operation. I have read an article as recent as late November when Parker was quoted saying there is currently no plans to divesting Eagle.

Now Eagle will be changing it's name soon and moving out of the AA Flight Academy to distance itself from AA and possible down the road offer it's services to other carriers, those are the rumors I've heard so far. I guess time will tell.

They could end up getting sold to SkyWest I suppose. Or, they could go out of business completely like Comair did, although I think that's unlikely. Nothing but fun in this industry, especially the regionals. Time will tell!
