Would you rather visit NY in July or January? Why do people go to Florida in the summer? Why did I go to the Bahamas in August 2 years ago? (Serious question, that was a terrible idea)

I'd rather go to NY in January, honestly, because I know better and I feel like I could get away with convincing people to do indoors stuff more easily than I could do it in July.
'Hey, lets just walk 7 blocks then take the 4 train down to Wall Street then walk a few more blocks to see the WTC monument!'
'Uggghh, cant we just go to a bar then a show?'

Virtually all brakes on modern airliners are carbon fiber. I can remember UAL testing carbon fiber brakes on the DC-10 back in the 90's.

“United flight 61 from Newark to Honolulu was not able to takeoff this morning due to a minor mechanical issue. Customers deplaned and we are providing meal vouchers, snacks and beverages as we work as quickly as possible to get customers to Honolulu," said Maddie King, a spokesperson for United.

I agree. I'd rather catch a shorter flight down to carribean unless youre going for extended period of time.

Someone that lives in a part of the country where summer sucks, which is two thirds of the country.
Mexico and the Carribean get oppressively hot in the summer time. Hawaii is usually nice as long as the tradewinds are blowing.

I've seen north of 600º on a summer tailwind landing. The tech ops guys that met the plane commented that they hadn't ever seen that amount of 'glow' coming off of them before.
