My heart breaks for you.
My reaction to this is something along the lines of "huh? What? What the...well...what? Why?"At first my thoughts were "WTF? There's a pilot running around performing surgery?" and then my little monkey brain saw the penis angle and thought "LOL", but then I thought, you know what's essentially a completely peculiar article, the person having the operation performed and then the resulting effects of it is potentially in a very precarious place emotionally, physically and potentially socially after the news spread.
I have some transgender friends (and you guys do too, you just don't realize it) so I'm not really sure what I feel about the story to be honest.
Just because you can..."Oh, I can do that!"

It is the most bizarre thing I've read recently. Which is saying something.
That would strike me as a "special" kind of desperation. As far as what would drive someone unqualified to claim they could perform that surgery, called an orchiectomy, and offer to do it... That I can't say.
Fake news is the guy is a pathological liar who is always making up outlandish stories and experiences. Take that for what fake news is worth. That would strike me as a "special" kind of desperation.

Well to be fair, it's not like you had any other options ;-)
Perhaps it is a sign of the ongoing death of expertise.Fake news is the guy is a pathological liar who is always making up outlandish stories and experiences. Take that for what fake news is worth.

Lots of people do go to Thailand as you can generally buy first class airfare, hotel, meals, and your procedure for less than the base procedure costs here.

There are downsides though, recovery in a foreign country, difference in techniques, little recourse if something goes wrong down the road after you're home.
I'm sure you really want to know all of this.

You will still need recommendation letters, most US docs still follow the WPATH so it will still be a wait to fulfill the requirements, but there will be a shorter waiting period for your scheduled date.I read an article about that over there. Also no waiting period, which I believe most places in the states require.
