I've ask three groups at my shop about volunteering and...... No reply at all. 8(
You are a first year pilot at a very anti-union shop, there are easier ways of getting fired.

Just saying a pilot still on probation at his shop should try to keep his head down.

Isn't this your first 121 gig? How many hours do you have at Skywest?Like getting into the training department?
Approaching 1 year now, but the comment was more a joke of a fast way to get fired. 8)ClarkGriswold said:Isn't this your first 121 gig? How many hours do you have at Skywest?
Current shop is like that too, and it's like pulling teeth to get guys to come volunteer.
If you're gonna go around causing havoc in the belt, the Roci is the way to go!
She is a gunship.
She is so much more than that!

While I understand the frustration, I know many pilot's (myself included) who shot a message to that generic MEC email account asking to volunteer, and never heard a peep back.
It was an ill timed change to outlaw paraphernalia of the "other" union, which backfired spectacularly. A literal interpretation of the policy even outlaws company issued lanyards by Standards and Training. Seems management is DALPAs best union organizer. Pilots are pissed off and looking for a fight.
Yep. I wear a dirty beat up USMC one. Everyone assumes I flew in the Corps, but I have to explain to them the Army Guard fulfilled my Aviator dreams. My lanyard is the one thing that I have that establishes my individuality in this profession. I would hate to give that up.
Surprisingly, lanyards give a good ice breaker for networking purposes.
