Delta MD-88 Cancelations

Every Delta flight between ATL and ORF was canceled today and I'm at a loss as to why. It's windy, but other airlines are getting in just fine so I'm guessing that's it's an airplane issue. Each canceled flight was on an MD-88 (or so says Flightaware). What is the crosswind limitation?

Here is the weather at Norfolk on the last 3 reports. Runway is 5/23.

KORF 151851Z AUTO 30011G22KT 260V350 10SM CLR M04/M23 A3012 RMK AO2 SLP199 T10391228 TSNO

KORF 151751Z AUTO 28013G23KT 10SM CLR M04/M22 A3012 RMK AO2 PK WND 31026/1737 SLP199 T10441222 11044 21083 50004 TSNO

We came in from SLC and other than Boston, Norfolk was the only cancelation on the board. Winds were higher early this morning, but not high enough to expect every flight to cancel.

It is coded as "weather" so we received no help from the airline. They couldn't get us home until tomorrow. Newport News, Richmond, Charlottesville, and Roanoke were still scheduled, but were oversold. We rented a car and are driving the 9 hours home.

But you get some quality time with Travis. Make sure to ask him about Lake Gaston.

Maybe it wasn't ORF, but upstream in ATL or wherever those planes are flying from to ATL before ORF.

Make sure to ask him about Lake Gaston.
