It's not plural. It's possessive. While we're bringing up radio calls, why do Delta pilots seem to think their company name is plural? Deltas (insert flight number here). I've been curious about that for years.

You're taking this personally. You must be a SeeYa guy. Please don't do that anymore.... Thanks
Please put your shades (not on your forehead or off your shirt) away when you walk through the terminal, you look a fool. Now that's not directed at you, unless ya know, you were caught doing that once because you're human. You're taking this personally. You must be a SeeYa guy. Please don't do that anymore.... Thanks
I agree, seeyuh freaks.Time for a vacation from the Internettes.
SEEEYUH!
Calm down captain happyTime for a vacation from the Internettes.
SEEEYUH!
Lol, not all Delta pilots.Omg guys...
I heard #Atlanta and #Washington Center tell pilots #SEEEEEEEYAH this evening.
Soooooo ridiculous, when will controllers get the memo that Delta pilots are worried about it.
Don't like See Ya huh?
There are bigger problems to solve, yes?
That's right there is no direction for the quota. One week it'll be 80%, then it'll be 10% with an overall average under 40% (last I saw). Study real hard and if they say no just remember to get the hell out.
It's a popular refrain for all of us to say 95% of guys at "my" airline are good guys. Most of us can say honestly they always learn something from another pilot, over whelmingly positive experiences except for those few. It's always such a foreign concept to me that someone like Delta would interview so many of our guys with great resumes and say, no, to some, and hell no, to others. Southwest does it too, obviously there's a lot of companies that do that, but it's a deep curiousity of mine on how HRs view can be so different from regular smucks who learn to make it work with morons and learn to like them a little.Nah. They're hoping you stick around for the second try in six months (down from twelve!!) so they don't have to rush to staff the airline.
I'm with @wheelsup on something. Why is it okay for the regionals to fly Delta passengers on Delta tickets on Delta planes, but they're potentially "not Delta material" when it comes to an interview. When I was there, I always got a good laugh out of Delta's "One level of service" they attempted to trot out to the customers when it was clearly not seen that way when it came to dealing with their regional partners. Even being wholly owned in the case of Comair, Mesaba and now Endeavor didn't change matters. All it did was mean there was no contract for Delta to exploit by not paying required payments and sending the company into bankruptcy.
I know several good guys that went for SSP interviews who would have absolutely been an asset to Delta. They were shot down, but it's cool. They're over here at Blue now, so Delta's loss is our gain, I guess. Personally, I saw enough of the Delta machine under Pinnacle. Yes, some of it was management at Pinnacle, which is why I wouldn't trust anything they attempt to sell to the pilot group, even if they are "under new management" now. I guess I just got beaten too many times that I eventually decided to stop listening or believing anything that came out of either side of their mouths. But some of the stuff was how Delta treated their regional partners. Yes, a lot of the legacies do the same thing, which is why I didn't really want to jump on board the legacy train. Playing airlines off of each other to get lower rates, exploiting loop holes in contracts to improve your bottom line and skimping on payments you are contractually required to make might work for the shareholders, but it doesn't build a lot of good will if you're looking for people to want to come work for your airline when most of your staff retires.
Pinnacle sucked and I was treated like less than dirt by management while I was there. That being said, it was a definite means to an end. I met the people that helped me get where I am today, and about 90% of the people I flew with were professional and top notch people. I was one of the lucky ones to not only get out but to land where I WANTED to land instead of where I could. Just pisses me off to see the few people I know still there getting strung along month after month.
My god I cant wait until digital clearance transmission and expunge most vhf comm transmissions.
Seeeeeyaaahhh
Dtw, bos, ewr, mia, ... texas ... memphis. It's tower controlers more often, and dtw has its own charecter from the drinking days of Mesaba pilots and DTW controllers (prolly plenty of NWA in there too) now even expressjet guys get in with the, "lolz, we are over PAYED". Colgan got some pretty gutteral cyas out of boston john on the regular. And tonight it was #Indy center with all the unprompted SeeeeeYaaaaas.
So unprofessional.
Tune in later this week for the next report of unprompted SeeeeeeYaaaaaas from air traffic controllers.
I got to play with one years ago. I don't understand why it isn't in everything weighing more than 30k lbs. Had 8 years now to have that feeling dull, but still, get it in everything.CPDLC is awesome.
Wait until you've used it for a while and then you'll realize how crappy VHF comm in the states is.
