Delta/Endeavor SSP Extended to All Pilots

It is my understanding that as Delta got further down the seniority list the CJO percentage went up dramatically. I would bet if my company was offered a similar SSP the results would be similar.

This is a true statement. The SSP pass rate after they got through the "dead wood" normalized to come quite close to the regular off the street pass rate. There have been many days where only 1 out of 9 have gotten the no vote in recent times.

Rogah! Try not to listen to your goofball ex-Pinnacle captains in DTW actively trying to convince everyone that Delta's just going to bring everyone over to the list on a staple. Comair had those guys too, and it seems like there's some neurosis that happens at any Delta owned regional. Some sort of delusions brought on by PTSD.

(however if they're right they'll look like geniuses and we'll all look the idiots)

This is the truth! A flow is the farthest thing from happening after how spectacularly a number of the senior types busted the SSP.

It's too bad, because a least one of those guys is an amazing friend, coworker, and was a valuable worker in the training department. I'd recommend him anywhere and he's the kind of guy who helps everyone around him, and kept a lot of us in high spirits in the worst of the merger/buyout nonsense.

So because one guy is good that didn't get the nod, they should flow all the crazies that couldn't come close to cutting it?

Not sure how you came to that conclusion, brilliant though, every time I talk to you I can see why nothing gets through your thick head. Would it help if I answered like this?

[One of those senior types who busted the SSP "so spectacularily"] ... is an amazing friend, coworker, and was a valuable worker in the training department. I'd recommend him anywhere and he's the kind of guy who helps everyone around him, and kept a lot of us in high spirits in the worst of the merger/buyout nonsense. [It really is too bad for those of us who knew him and feel a strong friendship to him]

Are you snottier than normal today?

What would you like? How can you find resolution?

Serious question.

I don't think I understand your question, it appears your asking what is the solution to the story one guy didn't get a nod on the SSP and was told "never come back"?

It reads like you didn't like the opinion, but sounded a little emotional about it by:

Again, can you explain your question?

I remarked that it was too bad some good guys got the "not just no, hell no". That emotional evokation turned into a silly response of "well let's just flow everyone." I responded again.

Now your asking what my solution is- to what?

Wait, are you asking if I wrote that to evoke an emotion?

My quote was mentioning why a flow isn't going to happen, and you responded with "it's too bad because..."

Far be it from anyone to conclude you were lamenting over the a flow not happening.

If I wasn't clear then that is my error. I simply responded to what was written, it would have been better if I answered fully.

Replace "Delta" with any legacy carrier name that has regional feed and your statement would still hold, except that the regionals no longer do 50% of DL flying and is rapidly shrinking.

Not really. From the outside looking in, the Widget Wings seem to make guys have a higher opinion of their place of employment than the other places. Nothing wrong with it (and completely understandable based on current performance) but the emphasis on being "Delta material" seems to be much more critical in getting hired there than being "XXXX material" at at other shops.

Can confirm (source: spawn of Deltoid).

You still gotta perform at the interview. I've been there too.

It's kind of like the Superbowl. You can break all the offensive records during the regular season, and even get a bye through the early rounds, but you gotta emerge victorious in the final game.

To bring it a little back on topic. It should be NO surprise that the senior folks would have a high failure rate with the SSP.

I agree with that, but it's been overwhelmingly agreed some of the guys really get poked at. It's years of listening to guys feedback from the interview process, but this guy used to cheer Delta's name, got ahead, training department guy. Other than being a ginger he was completely normal and great. This guy may have been at Mesaba a little while, but he really wanted NWA, then he really wanted Delta, and was absolutely crestfallen not just by the "no, hell no" but the delivery of the guy. I wasn't there in person so I can't say exactly what went down, or how bad he blew any interview. I just know when he came back, he didn't look like a guy who tried and lost, he was a guy that tried, and insulted and left feeling like someone killed his kitten.
