Hainan 787-8 B-2759 departing on the first SJC-PEK flight

Inaugural flight from San Jose to China(Beijing). Yet, the media chose to focus all the news on the water canon salute. Hippies.

Huge delay on a Cathay Pacific flight let me get this shot.

Very rare San Jose Burrowing Owl, only 37 left around here I'm told.

After over 30 years of flying AA MD-80s into SJC, these are the last few months we'll see them here.

Affirm. Looks like you know all them gliding ops.
It's an excellent soaring environment, albeit a little rough to the north of the reservoir. Btw: some of the turnpoints would make an acceptable landing site in case of emergency, hope you know them (piolis, maben etc..)

Got back from playing in Anchorage. This airplane has been on my "hit list" for years. Watched her push, and almost screwed the shot up from being excited as she crossed Runway 15/33. Got stuck in that space of "just watch her" and "GET THE SHOT!!!"

You actually made that hunk of junk look good.

Is that a CN235? Where did you see that?

Pretty unusual huh? When I saw it I thought it was a special C-27A or something, which I realized was wrong after a quick image search. It actually took me a little while to figure it out. I also saw this on the ramp, which is another unusual aircraft to see here in the lower 48.

We've got a few Porters up here.. mostly the better version though... without the Pratt on it.

I think those Casas in NC are for sale if you've got 5 mil laying around.
