On one hand...I'm going to go ahead and tell myself that since the young couple was late for their international flight that it was an extreme but honest mistake and that the parents are beside themselves.

A couple of years ago, we had some parents drop their two kids off at the psych ward. Because the parents had a three day trip to Vegas planned and the babysitter canceled on them at the last minute. They of course didn't state that on admission, no they said that both of the kids were suicidal. The kids were hysterical and days later informed staff that they weren't suicidal and informed staff of the real reason why they were dropped off.

Parents can be the worst and do the worst things related to their kids.
