Cheating on FAA written exam

Probably not best to leave a lithium battery in your car, where it could heat up...

Every FAA test I took had me put my belongings in a bin.
If you have the Note 7, then yeah. Even if you do, having it off and not charging you'd be fine.

Seriously, you guys are arguing over battery issues over potential cheating accusations on a federal test? Dam the phone battery leave the dam thing in the car.

You can't prove your innocence in this case. It's going to be your word against theirs. I'd check into the rules about recording the exam.

You might be hosed. And if the FAA makes you retake it, and you fail it...
You'd have to be an idiot to fail the exam.

How certain are you about that? I wouldn't bet my car that a Note 7 could sit in there uncharged after all these reports. Screw that!

Charging does seem to be the issue. Even the FAA said not to charge them on a plane.

This issue couldn't have happened at a better time for Apple. Everyone at work has the Samsung 7. My iPhone 7 shipped Friday, arrives tomorrow.

Then you'll be all caught up to the Samsung 5 in a few days!
Hardware wise sure....as far as functionality Samsung needs another 3-5 years to catch Apple.

I have never been more frustrated in my life than having a Samsung Galaxy phone for 2 years.

As much as I like my car, if my phone was to go "nuclear," I'd rather it happen there than in some locker, desk drawer, or my pants pocket at a testing center. Of course, if I had a Note 7, I would have already taken it out of service by now.

My recollection of my time as a Proctor was that my approach was to ensure that applicants took as little as possible in the exam room with the exception of clothing, handkerchief and perhaps any essential medication and a calculator.

Take the time to write your version in full and in detail starting with why and how you were at the testing center and all communications that took place before, during and after the exam as well as your actions and movements throughout, including of course the location of the phone at all times and whether or not you touched it etc.

Any witnesses to you being advised you could take the phone into the exam room, were other applicants permitted to take phones or other devices in? How long has the Proctor been Proctoring and is it her usual practice to permit devices in the room and this the normal practice of the testing center. Do you know anyone other persons who have taken the tests there and what were they told?

Just to drive the point home, when @Derg and many other professional pilots who have had long careers flying tell you to lawyer up, lawyer up. Get this resolved with a professional aviation attorney and bite the bullet on the cost. Like Doug said, this is a career altering accusation. Listen to the people here, get yourself a lawyer, get your recollection down in full, and STOP TALKING ABOUT IT ON THE INTERNET.
