Sorry to be gruesome here but…

It’s kinda like with that Florida building collapse. Sure, we know what the FP may say, and we know their is a family missing someone, but you gotta remember there probably wasn’t anything left of the bodies. So they have to get DNA from the family somehow, and then test whatever is left over in the crash. Which could be literally nothing recognizable as human left over.

I think his point was that a flight plan - properly filed- accurately communicates the number of souls on board. I believe his shock was related to quantitative cognitive dissonance, not qualitative cogdis.

But it doesn’t. That’s not how legally identifying bodies and next of kin works, especially when there’s nothing left. Souls on board works great when it’s a rescue at sea, but you can also take out people on the ground so it doesn’t really mean anything for a large crash like this.

Yes. Right. Absolutely.

But individual IDs was NOT @Boris Badenov's shock. He was talking simply about the delay in accurately knowing/identifying the NUMBER of people on board. Or at least that's how I took it.

That comment takes the already low bar this site has been operating on lately and puts it damn near on the floor. You have no idea how this plane was being operated. You ought to be ashamed, but somehow I'm sure you'll blow it off.

At least one crew member has been named and he was a professional contractor with over 4000 hours in the Challenger. He was also an active member on a competing forum.

I never claimed ANY idea about the specs of this accident. As a matter of fact, I explicitly denied any knowledge about the specs of this accident.

If you want to pile on with the rest of the like-click motorcycle gang, knock yourself out. Mine was a general statement about the general state of the industry. If, in order to go after me personally, you want to turn that into some specific comment making some specific statement about THIS specific accident... ??? Well, that's your reading comprehension and none of my own.

I suppose if 20 people say they saw you drunk, you might as well start drinking...

Still, I'll remain here for office hours after class.

Funny how everyone else around here seems to manage it. I think the difference might be that they aren’t trying to sound infinitely smarter than they actually are. Just a hypothesis…

And drop the faux ignorance and own up to Crop Duster. It’s really old at this point.

Was one of them a PPW guy?
 
He was. For 11 years if I remember right and he had been active within a few days of the accident. A few members over there knew him personally.

I flew a bunch with him when he was still flying 121. One of the better captains I worked with.
 
My heart goes out to those who knew and loved. No one goes to work thinking they will face a situation that turns deadly. Could be any of us.

There was a guy really going low on him and the other pilot on the PJP page in Facebook. The guy who created the page actually. He's been paying for it though.

What's getting old is this "Crop Duster" crap. WTF are you talking about??? You guys got a secret clubhouse, or what?
