Well day two was a lot of good stuff..... A lot over part 61 which was a great review in addition to lesson plans...... Spent the day from 7am-5pm at the airport followed with going back with some ACPP students and studying from 5-11pm. I would say the apartments these guys are at are 1st class. Very impressed with that. So far a lot of studying and feeling "unprepared" even though I have been studying for a good two months before coming.... Just a lot to cover in a little amount of time!

Well day three came and went...... Another long day..... Lots of stuff going on and more studying to do. Since i'm a total instructor I have a 6am report time and 3 hours of flying tomorrow. Pretty much from 6-11am we have the plane. Will do three hours and shall see how that goes. Ground from 12-9pm so that should make for yet another long day..... So far its been what I expected.......
I'm guessing your talking about Avanti. I was the first of four people there and they are sweet. Much better than the old apartments. Its a great deal for 200 bucks a month!

Well wait is this day 3..... nah ok its 4.... Needless to say as you are enrolled in the 14 day course you will lose track of what day of the week it is..... Today started off with a wake up at 5am and off to the airport. Needless to say thats where the day got a little questionable...... Arrived to the airport at 545 to do a pre flight..... well no one was there.... so waited until about 5 after 6 when the first of what should have been three CFI's showed up for the CFI students who need the 15 hours of PIC.....
Well finally about 630 showed up and Walt was rather upset and got on the phone to find out where the two CFI's that were not there were..... Needless to say he wasnt pleased and that made for an interesting meeting between me and my CFI...... However once he got there he was alright just there was a mix up in the start time..... Well we walked out to the plane to find out about 10 minutes later during the runup the right engine right mag was totally out...... The left mag went off the charts in a drop and the right didnt move at all.... So we went and taxiied in.... Well this is nearly 730 at this time and MX gets in at 8..... So we went in to find all the seminoles were being used (all 10+) so we had to wait for mx..... Went over to ground school figuring cant just wait and sit.... Well around 10am my CFI came over and asked "what time you got to be back?" I stated 11am if i want lunch 12 if i want to go without..... So we went and flew for about an hour.....
Flight was just the CMEL out of the right seat with an accelerated stall.... Minus steep turns I was alright..... Need to brush up on steep turns out of the right seat. The Instructor was impressed and said to "worry about the text flying wont be a problem" so all i need to do is get my PIC for this ride..... So that's a plus.....
Well ground from 12-8pm... Went over the FOI and then the last four ours were CFII ground..... Pretty good.... A CFI came over to teach the CFII part and did a great job.... General review but it refreshed things..... Needless to say I can see what some of the "craziness" that happens around this place as of today...... After four days I'm dead but I realize I cant stop now..... 10 more days and damnit I'm going to make it..... Tomorrow is a 7am flight.... should be 3 hours of CFI/CFII stuff.... I'll post soon!

haha fun, interesting, weird..... oh and the Ocean seems to not really differ from the sky either.....
Its weird but honestly NOTHING to be worried about... Sit back and enjoy...... I personally didnt take it well as in my body wanted to throw up but everyone else was fine.... I think heat had some to do with me though... Indiana boy in Florida doesnt work well!

Well day five came and went..... Shorter day today.... Roughly 7am-7pm.... So not too bad you can say.... Did about 3.5 in the seminole..... Out of the right seat I can say the steep turns, especially over the ocean without a horizon, can be a little difficult. Glad to say that's the only thing I'm struggeling with there. No word on DE's and when my ride will be. With any luck Tuesday at the soonest which is most likely going to happen since I dont do my sign off ride until monday..... Anyways off to do some self study

Steep turns to the right... from the right seat... for some reason, I had an issue with those during training. I pulled it together for the checkride... but... it was close!

Here's the solution, roll into turn, add power, 2 rolls of nose up trim as you're rolling in, hands off, see what plane does, if it wants to descend, correct with your index finger only so you don't over correct. And put the trim in quickly. The plane will fly itself
And trim is your best friend!

You are kidding? Damn perhaps you should give me a call and go out with the guys.... We are going to get some food and study up tonight........ So any word on when your ride is going to happen? You are JAX but was that just for your CFI or you from some where else? I thought the ACPP students went to FLL and did the ride there? WOW needless to say I hope they get their stuff together for your situation........

Day 6...... Pretty much like the others..... Woke up and got to the airport for a 7am flight. Did another 3.5 in the plane working on II stuff. Pretty much that was what I expected and hope it all goes well when I do it for my ride..... I still am not getting use to this ocean for the steep turns even under the hood..... Something about "blue and BLUE" makes it interesting. Definitely different from up north or over land. Anyways did some steep turns under the hood today and they worked out. At least within PTS tolerance..... So we will see what I do when i find out about my ride. So far as of today no word on when my ride will be. The guys are getting together tonight to study and i'll be joining. I cant believe its 1pm and i'm at my hotel and about to study.... Definitely looking foward to this because I think it'll be more productive. Anyways its been what I expect. I really think "THINK" that all the guys have a great shot of passing. There's only one who has like 800 hours and just isnt cutting the book works.... We will see what happens... I can say this though, at least all the ACPP students and total instructors did have ALL Their writtens done.......
Took my ATP written this morning, got a 95% and flew a couple hours. I have my CSEL tomorrow morning, then supposedly will have MEI Tuesday in FLL. I've been here since april, I did everything here. I sure hope they get their stuff together so I can get this done, too. My wife is going to kill me if I don't start making money soon!

I think I saw ya then..... I was in this morning..... So you were able to study for the ATP written before taking your CFI rides? Nice man..... I just want to get these rides in. What do you know about Ernie? From the sounds of it I have a good chance of having him as my DPE?
I had 2 weeks to study for it. The week before CFI school, then this past week. I've been sitting around waiting, so thats what I have been doing. What is your name? I'll be in tomorrow 8am for CSEL. I had one with Ernie and the others with Peter. Tomorrow I'll have Rich, so we'll see how that goes.

I'll be in tomorrow about 9am... I was suppose to fly at 7 but talked to my CFi at the apartment tonight. He told me to show up about 9am b/c of a confussion. Anyways i'll be in. Any word on Ernie on a MEI ride? Sounds like that's who I am going to have....
Turns out I have my CSEL with Ernie tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes. Where are you staying?
