I just typed her name in and the word pilot on the google images search. Don't know who the guy is though.
 
Funny thing is that Slater is a former Gold Gloves boxer. I think he was pretty good. When they made that movie, I remember an interview with both of them and they asked, who would really win in a boxing match between the two of you.

Slater said, oh, I'd kick his ass. No question. They turned to Travolta, and he just shrugged.

Whatever happened to Slater, anyway? I know that everyone thought he was just a pretty boy, but I thought he was pretty cool.

Anyway, besides watching the classic Lipton on Lipton (Will Ferrell), if you catch the one with Travolta, they talk about flying for a while.

Yes, but I couldn't think of his name when I was writing that post so I just left it out. I didn't know until the Travolta interview which I think John actually says something to James about his flying. Also, about Travolta. When doesn't he talk about flying in an interview. If the interviewer doesn't bring it up, he will find a way.

I recommend the Sunday pancake breakfast.

Might have something to do with the long, reinforce runway to accomodate the 707 and the fact that he was more or less run out of Spruce Creek.
 
Ya I heard he has some sort of fly-in breakfast...what is that about? Ocala is just a short hop from TLH, I'd like to check it out sometime. I wouldn't mind talkin planes with JT.
 
Speaking of celebrity pilots, when we were parking the plane today after my lesson, my CFI said that I had just flown a plane a famous person did. I asked, and sure enough it was our very own Dan Rooney (owner of the Steelers). Ironic!
 
Cool! I flew Steve Fossett's Extra 300L down at IWA for upset training (was sold to FCI).
 
A friend of mine had the opportunity to fly Former President Bush, his company has 2 airplanes (Challanger and Citation III) and 3 pilots. He elected not to fly as the background check was extensive - all his log books, and licenses would have had to been reviewed by the secret service, airplane and logs inspected at Andrews. The chief pilot was required to be onboard, and my friend happily elected the other pilot to fly that trip!
 
2 that I can think of come to mind. Mike Nesmith of the "Monkey's" for the older crowd is a pilot, and I did a BFR for Chuck Woolery last yr. And you all missed one: who could forget ole John Denver? lmfao

Also adding to the Nascar Drivers that are pilots.

1. Mark Martin. Jet rated if i'm not mistaken
2. Ricky Rudd
3. Bill Elliot. Owns a awesome looking Lancair Columbia.
4. Tony Stewart. Heard he got his ppl, but can't confirm that.

Jack Roush owns 1 or 2 Mustang P-51's.

Man, sometimes I wish I could drive fast, and turn left.

Question: Does Roush race those P-51s at Reno (or Tunica, MS even)? Seems logical since he owns Nascar teams.

Not sure about racing them, but I know that he allows his buddy, "Chuck Yeager" to fly one. In fact, 1 of the P-51's is painted like Chuck's plane that he flew in WWII or Korea. Can't remember which war it was.

I have an article laying around somewhere about Roush, and his love of flying and being a team owner in Nascar. 1 thing I do remember is that Roush does own either 1-2 Boeing 727-100's

Dominican Republic was flying them up until about 1984/85 as a frontline fighter.

During 1969/1970, Honduras engaged in war with El Salvador in the infamous "Soccer War", where Honduran F4U Corsairs (WWII vintage) battled in the air with Salvadoran P-51 Mustangs.

That would've been a sight to see.
