Like flyover has already said, many NASCAR drivers. I believe Mark Martin flies his own Citation and I also know that Ricky Rudd owns and flys his own Dassault Falcon 10. I have bumped into him a couple of times flying into my home airport to visit some friends of his from around here. Nice guy!

I think his name is Michael Dorf, he was on star trek. He owns a Jetstar and some other planes....Also, Jimmy Buffett, Dennis Quaid, and I think Tom Cruise was working on his PPL at some point.

[/ QUOTE ]Yeah, Tom Cruise flys a P-51 (probably among other things). Must be nice.

I was flying into Telluride last year when he and his pilot (he flies with someone WAY more qualified than him) got busted for noise abatement violations.

Bob Lutz, former VP of Chrysler Corp. and current president of Product Design at General Motors flies several planes. Infact he has a 60-70's MiG of some vatiety its jet powered. He's also like 60 yrs old. Rumor has it that he has a heli and has been know to hover near GM buildings checking to see if top brass are at their desks!

I think Dexter(?) from the Offspring has a Citation hangered at KSNA. Flies it himself too. And maybe Wayne Newton a Bell Ranger--can't remember though.

Dexter used to rent a 172 out of SNA. He is a neighbor of mine and although his Winnebago is pretty awesome, I think a citation is slightly out of his range.

I met a pilot for delta who used to play college ball...I think his name was Dan, i cant remember. He is a check airman, and when I met him about a year back he flew the 737-800. We started talking about football over the Unicom once TLH tower shut down, and I think he told me he played for Nebraska. Real nice guy, he invited me to hop on over to the airline terminal after my flight to check out the HUD on the new bird. When we were about to meet up, he just said "look for the biggest pilot you've ever seen." This guy looked like he used to toss linemen around for fun. Unfortunately the TSA at TLH were d!cks and wouldn't let me near the plane! Anyway, to me, he was the best pilot to talk to. Knew his [censored] about sports, and a few things about aviation

Doug, any idea who I'm talking about? I'm pretty sure he is ATL based.

If I had a $1 for every time someone asked "Hey, you know this guy named John, I think he's ATL based" I'd be a zillionaire and my secretary would be answering my email!

Does Dan have a last name?

Wayne newton has a really ugly Jetranger, its blue and purple with really low skids so he can park in his garage. Carter Beauford the drummer from Dave Matthews band flies a biplane or something, I think.

You have to remember all the rest of those celebrity pilots, that shouldnt be, or are not anymore
John Denver
Rumor has it Patrick Swayze ran from the crash site, to a construction site, and gave all the workers what was left of his 12 pack

That might not be accurate, but someone told me that a few years ago

Lol, i figured you would say that. Especially since he doesn't even fly your type. I don't remember his last name unfortunately. I figured I'd give it a shot since I haven't seen too many 6ft. 200+lbs pilots flying for delta that played college football.

Ah well...I'll give ya a buck next time

If you have ever seen the movie Miracle, at the end, it shows pictures of the players and tells about what they all do now for a living. One (I'm blanking on the name right now) ended up flying for Mesaba!

I never kew there were so many celebrities who fly. They obviously don't have to worry about paying for their training and flight time!
