Cape Air Hiring into Pool

Of course, and if you look at there payscale you see why...

Umm a pilot flying C402 will make more than a 3 yr regional FO.
I dont care when ppl share their opinions/views...but guy come on b4 you post something you have no clue about do some research.:banghead:

I just put in my resume with Cape Air over the web site. I would not be able to relocate up north. I was hoping to work part-time but year round down in Florida. I have my ATP with 1750/350. The only way I know about them was through the web site. Just from the little research I did I saw no red flags, and after reading this, sounds like a good place to work. What are the odds of getting a call or email from them?

I got hired with about the same hours you have and an ATP cert, though the timing was a little different. Just make sure to send a follow-up email, then another one, then a phone call, then another email . . . you get the drift.

Typically only pilots who have been with the company for at least a year are allowed to go to a part-time schedule. That being said, I do know a guy who went straight to PT out of training, but he has beaucoup flight time (like 20k plus) and a little more "bargaining power." It's not impossible, just unlikely.

I thought they came online around 2003? I know it's been a good while; one of the SJU guys was in the first groundschool for it and I know it was a good 5-6 years ago. Ah, who knows. :D

Jeez, yeah that sounds right. What year is it? :p

I've yet to see nonheavymetaldriver post anything intelligent.

I've heard Florida (RSW) is very senior.

I guess a school janitor really does make as much money as a pilot.

I don't think you can quite compare that to Cape. We're also making $15/hr, but you can also earn $4000/year in transition bonuses, and down south you're earning a $3/hr override at a higher min guarantee. Most hard lines have overtime built in, padding the paycheck as well. One of our captains who's been at Cape for two years put $68,000 on his last W-2. Granted he had to work damn hard for that, but it's doable.

There will always be peple considering themselfes no better than a janitor, even if flying for an airline. Some just need to feel that way.
I agree with mini, for those of us seeing and knowing about Cape (claim) I would say the chances will be quite good, once things turn around and look better for the SJS people. They will leave Cape in a hurry, and Cape will finally have a chance to hire people who want to do this, and don't feel they have to, to get ahead somewhere else.

:)

Whats the average FO making per year? I have seen $9/hr in APC....I got an email today wanting more info on me and I'm really considering it, however, I dont know if a move is worth half what I make as a CFI.

Nevermind, I scrolled up....:bandit:

Nope, bases are HGR and LNS. One plane was a backup for either base and the other was waiting to go home.

I got an email from pilot recruitment a few days ago wanting me to fill out an application. I saw 20 others were sent the same thing. Anyone know if classes are going on right now? Projected hiring numbers?

I talked to Gene Smith, pilot recruiter yesterday. He said that two pilots are leaving, and there is a meeting on Thursday to see if they are going to put another class through. But don't get your hopes up too much, I think he said they have a meeting every Thursday.
