Cape Air Hiring into Pool

Didn't they just have a fatal engine failure in BOS and a dual engine failure in FL the last couple of months?

I think a number of others have corrected you just fine about this, but be aware that a simple question can be construed as a bash. Even with one question you can give a company an undeserved reputation in the minds of people who don't know anything about the company. Cape Air unfortunately had a first fatal accident last year after 19 years of fatality-free flying, but you might be aware that this is a better safety record than just about every other airline out there.

Cape is a good company to work for. 2 years of doing business with them has convinced this fellow.

Unfortunately they won't even look at 'low timers' for FO spots on the 402's, even if such people are very close to one of their hubs and have good solid exposure to the 400 series twins.

You know they pay their pilots, right?

:D

For those of you that don't get that, don't worry...he will...and that's all that matters.

Any word on the rumors of new routes?

I've heard some, but it's from an inside source and I don't think I should post it on the webs.

Mmmuuuuuhahahahahahaahwaaaaa! Aaaawesome!
:rotfl:
Guess thats why they don't hire me, Doh!?

I never 'offered' anyone anything for free, but don't have 1000/300 so, whats your point?
How's your job coming along Mini? :cwm27: Still busy flying for the big bucks? If you get a chance, shoot me a PM, I'll tell you who's little red bouncing dot was on my chest not too long ago.

Anyhow, Cape's a good Company, sure there will always be flatbrains bashing them but thats normal. I'm sure they take that very serious. I actually never sent a resume. A simpe call to one of their pilots settled it for me, why waste paper?

From what I hear they could cover the whole state with resume's and still have some left to get a nice big, hot fire going with those who would love to get some multi time for free...;)

I just had to bust your balls when I got the chance. :D

Me? Oh yeah...it's great. My wife took this of me a week ago. I normally wear pants, but this was a special occasion.

Anything in the Pacific Northwest if officially out. There's talk of bidding on some eas lines out of Pittsburg to places like Latrobe but there's nothing close on the horizon.

We have so many pilots that are on furlough that it's more likely we'll start hiring seriously again if there are recalls, so keep an ear open for Eagle or JetBlue pilots going back to work, since it will mean Cape Air needs more pilots.

Got an email today in response to my application two weeks ago. Said they don't have any classes scheduled but will keep my resume on file for one year with the one million others.

.....back to enjoying the recession...

You guys need to realize that Cape and any other company is swamped with resumes and applications right now! I think it will be some time before Cape will start hiring actively again, at least until some of the current pilots at Cape will be re-called. One of my buddies got hired on with Cape about a month ago, but he has no clue when his class date will be.

I started applying back in September. I still haven't heard anything. I understand now, but back then it seemed like they were going crazy. Maybe that was just the perception I got.

A call or e-mail to say "thanks for your now leave us alone" would have been great.

That would have shown you any respect and courtesy Mini.
Employers can't do that! :cwm27:
:sarcasm:

As I said, they could cover three states with resume's just like every person operating any plane right now could.

Maybe they just don't like you.
I threw an app. in there at the same time and I got a call the next day. I turned it down and they called me a week later to make sure I didn't want to come in and interview.
