Bush Flying

Thanks for all the advice! And I'll definitely do that.

I plan on just taking my car if it'll work, it's a Ford Focus hatchback, but paid for and in good mechanical shape. After the float rating and expenses getting up there it'd probably be good to not have a car payment!

I would have a float rating in hand before even applying for a float job. It's the quickest way to get your resume round filed. Taquan has also taken low time guys and had them work the ramp for a season before giving them a shot flying. But the seasonal tour model is also making it harder to find guys each year, so the odds may be in your favor.

Sounds good, I'm going to call around to all these places tomorrow and hopefully chat with some folks.

Any vehicle will make the drive in the summer. If you are coming from Seattle, take the Cassiar. Very pretty, and a god bit shorter.

Invest in a pair of studs if you can.

Just booked my trip for the week of Feb 9th if anyone wants to meet up. I'll be staying down by the airport.

I swear I heard a banjo! And having been rasied in Georgia normally the sound of a banjo wouldn't bother me. But then I thought....
