Bush Flying

It's been that way for over a decade at least.
Ah, ok. All I ever see is their Bethel operations. It is tiny compared to what it used to be. Their Emmonak MX base has a parted out Navajo, and they only have one or two 207s flying out there.

Last time I was out in DUT this summer Grant had a King Air out there too. I think they take that out to Atka and what not. I hear them on center periodically as well. Flying in the Aleutians is pretty wild to me. Every time you get out of the airplane it's like you just went back in time.

The approaches suck, the weather is usually terrible and it's a really long ways to the next place for fuel.

Not to thread drift too much but a friend recently told me he's wanted to do Aleutian flying his whole life. Who's still flying out there? I know PenAir and ACE do some, anyone else fly out there?

I think Everett's goes down there too, not sure how often though.

They're better than what they were, the special approaches get you down to 500' and 3NM in Dutch, but you'd better know the terrain, otherwise they'd be a bit dicey

I'm gonna bump this. I'd like to fly float planes (Beavers) and do bush flying in Alaska.. I mean eventually off airport stuff. Looking at going up there next spring-ish, current times: 800TT 300XC 350TW 100 instrument (8 actual hahah). Most of my TW is Super Cub. I can get the float rating this spring. I can also finish my MEL.

Who should I look into?

Edit: Right now I'm thinking PenAir, maybe Yute Air. I know Alaska time is important so I could get it with either of them. Curious as to if that's a good route to go, or if I can get into the stuff I want to do quicker another way.
