Boeing opens S.C plant . flips NLRB an exclamation point.

Re: Boeing opens S.C plant . flips NLRB an exclamation point

Is that really a standard we want to shoot for? Being on par with the rest of the world?........

On par? We've been playing catch up for years and things aren't getting any better. We can use Airbus/Boeing as a comparision of this.

............As for Boeing moving. I think it would behoove the union folks to remember that one man's unfair labor practices are another man's opportunity of a lifetime, which is why there is such intense pressure for companies to move offshore.

Couldn't agree more; as the "worker" we are killing ourselves.

Re: Boeing opens S.C plant . flips NLRB an exclamation point

America has some of the lowest tax rates in the world, and our current rates are the lowest in our own country's history. Stop your whining.

And BTW, isn't it funny how that argument never finds its way into discussions about payrates; as in "other companies don't pay their people near what we pay. Stop your whining."

You guys are leading the race toward the united states becoming a third world country.

But don't worry, people that care about their country more than their economic ideologies will continue to fight you, and win. Thankfully most of this country doesn't have the blinders on that you guys do.

The only way the US will become a third world country is if we continue rampant spending and default. We're headed that direction; count on it.

Unbelievable. 1/4th to 1/3rd of your income going to a government that has time and again shown itself incapable of acting responsibly with it, hence the 14 trillion dollar debt, and you're just fine with that.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. My effective tax rate is only 15%. I think that's pretty reasonable, if not a little low. No one pays what their income indicates that their tax bracket should be, because everyone has tons of deductions. I just want to go back to the Clinton rates. I don't think that's so radical.

Not sure what you're talking about. Unions engage in pattern bargaining, which means we are always looking at what everyone else makes. You can't demand 30% higher than what everyone else makes and expect to get it.

Spending along with not enough tax revenue. Nice try though.

Raise taxes to 40%+ like Europe has and see what happens to our economy. You won't create a recovery by significantly reducing the disposable income of the people who actually contribute to the economy the most through spending and revenue production (the working class).

Get out some more, guys. Europe isn't the utopia everyone thinks it is. Not by a long shot.

I'm not promoting anything except the proper understanding of the terms you like to throw around. You like to put the focus on spending, when the complete picture is really spending AND a lack of revenue. To use a WACOism, it's a much used republican trick, and I understand that you can't help yourself.

Really? What was the top tax rate when President Kennedy cut taxes during his term? Do you even know? Most "conservatives" don't have a clue, yet they want to act like they're tax gurus. How about the top tax rate when President Reagan came into office? Or the top tax rate under President Clinton?

Someone quote this so the brittle one can see it:

Comparing tax rates under Ike, Kennedy, etc is a stupid and misleading argument. It is as dishonest as comparing infant mortality or life expectancy in the health care debate. If you are going to consider the higher tax brackets under those administrations, without comparing deductions and other loopholes that were available you are simply making noise to dishonestly prove a (wrong) point.

WACOism. Awesome. You should make a list of them.

The top tax bracket? My friend, we're not talking about top brackets at all. We're talking about your income tax bracket, along with the rest of us in the middle class. Those in the top brackets can still afford to spend, even with high tax rates for them (which I still don't agree with in principle); raise taxes to 40%+ for those of us who don't make millions each year, and watch what happens.

If you guys want Europe, move to Europe. Have fun with that.

I might ask you to quote me in return someday. We both have our fans of "Weaksauce". :)
