Again, I completely agree with you here. Our own government is out of control, and the only way to solve this is free market economics, not more regulation. But, now we're really getting out into left field. If you care to read my thoughts on the subject, you can find them here (please don't start that tread up again...please).
It's curious to me that we're not. Not sure why that is. We're all distracted by our Captive government "accidentally" letting us all know that some Wu-Tang member might be skating for a sec, but (self-righteous as they might be about penny-ante BS) no one is willing to confront the fact that our supposedly "representative" Gummint is happily handing out BILLIONS of dollars of "no-bid" contracts to the same companies that sold us the technology to blow the everloving poop out of the little brown people who had the misfortune of sitting on OUR OIL.
The United States has become a Kleptocracy. Everyone who isn't middle(or upper)-class and American knows that...because they've all suffered it in some way or another. The only question is did it become so because it was structurally necessary (ie. inevitable) or because someone dropped the ball somewhere? My inclination is towards the later, but I'm in a minority. And if you're looking to argue the larger question (eg. You think we're awesome and misunderstood), you're a fool, or at least you'll be viewed as such by everyone who doesn't carry a US Passport, regardless of how Nice we've been to them with our stolen money and prestige in the past. Ask them.
