Wouldn't the first responders, being trained in "incident command," be better suited for that job than Joe Public, with no medical training?

I get the whole, "team us," thinking prevalent in former military members. I am one myself. I've also spent over 25+ years in the civilian work force to know that sometimes it's not wanted or needed.

The only thing he would have been capable of was standing there and saying, "Stand back, girls. Give them room."

If you had such a problem with this why didn't you call ProStandards? I flew with the ProStandards Chair at your place, awesome dude. I am sure he would be willing to handle this to make the place you work better. But you just like to pontificate and say how great you think you are instead of actually working to fix the problem.

No, I stop. But I've have advanced life saving training. I don't expect someone with no skill whatsoever, outside of putting a bandaid on a boo boo, to stop and either make a bad situation worse, or endanger their lives on the side of the road for nothing but to rubberneck and post selfies.

I don't think the flight crew could've done anything medically. However would it not be prudent to stick around, and out of the way of the medics, when it comes to an emergency that had occurred on your flight, if only because if questioned about it at a later date or if needed to write some kind of report, you could speak to it first hand?

Not necessarily. If one were to walk out of the cockpit to a person lying on the floor, what could be offered beyond, "I don't know, I came out and they were just lying there. Talk to the A line."

Let's say the captain stuck around for arguments sake.

What are you expecting the captain do in a situation like this? You've said that EMS was alerted and people were out of the way. If the captain is not a medically certified individual there is nothing more they can do. Similarly in a traffic collision I wouldn't expect people to do anything more than call 911.

It's a crummy situation for sure but there is not much anyone can do.
