Announcement Ending 05/02

Maybe I'm weird, but I told my current employer what I was doing before I even took the AT-SAT.

Basically: Hey boss, I'm looking for a career where I have financially security and a hopeful future. I see that your company doesn't offer that to its employees, so I would like to find it with the FAA as an air traffic controller. I am currently progressing that goal and may have to take various days off for various reasons. Thanks in advance!

Kinda How I went about it..... but not quite as bold.... I Just went up to my Boss and Told him: "Hey, I am looking into a Career Change and applied to be an Air Traffic Controller with the FAA." He was cool with it and asked when my last day was, So I just told him the Truth and said, Not sure, but it will not be for several months. He just asked that I didn't blindside him with my 2 weeks notice, because he needs me to train my replacement. I told him not wot worry, that I would know at least a month or 2 before I left and I would tell him.

He was totally cool with it, then told me to get back to work....

Nothing else is going to change on ASAP now that we have our referral list status...

I applied for the 2/15 announcement and I got the AT-SAT email from Mr. Oborsky on the 29th of Feb. Got the snail-mail letter a few days later. Tested on St. Patty's and got the results via ASAP two days after that.
What is a "Non-PEPC Route" What is the differences between the two?

Thanks.

I don't know the specifics, but to answer your question, the "Non-PEPC" Route takes longer b/c they send you all the paperwork and you have to go to this and that doctor and have them fill it out and you send it in, blah blah blah....

I think you get the point.

That is not always the case. There are applicants who have been processed faster....

Not to mention, its CHEAPER!!!

This is my first post on this forum. Found it about 3 week ago, have read about every Public Announcement 2 post I could find... I would like to start off by saying that not only was it amuzing to find out there were so many people in the same waiting boat as me, but it gave me peace of mind that no one really has a clue when the next step is going to happen. So I am going to have a little fun!

Since we are all waiting to hopefully get a position in the FAA with most of us joining NATCA, I thought it was interesting that Bippoptl would have the avatar about the 10 out of 10 idiots supporting Obama. No matter how funny, or not funny, I or, anyone else, thinks that is, it is a bold move and a solid one. Considering the union we all will most likely join, if given a position, has given it's private and public support of said leader of the idiots.

I just am wondering how many of us have certain political beliefs and are willing to accept...errr...act like we accept other political beliefs in order to have/keep a job and get raises. That is all.

Ok... so a PEPC is where you travel to a PEPC location do your interview, security, medical, psych, and get your TOL all in one day. Non-PEPC route is doing all those things individually, generally over the course of a month or two (or more), but you won't have to travel to a PEPC location... it's done locally. It's obviously easier to go to a PEPC if you can, but we're seeing with PUBNAT1 that it doesn't necessarily mean you'll head to OKC before those who went the non-PEPC route.

Well, sure was hoping for that email today:( But at least my ten month old son learned today to clap with audience when the wheel spins on Wheel of Fortune. It is hilarious:laff:

I wouldn't worry about that avatar for a second...it's only a reflection on one persons ignorance. One just has to look at the condition that the nation is in to understand how whom they've supported so far has failed at almost everything they've done. Well...except for making the rich get richer and supporting big companies and forgetting about the middle class Americans they supposedly advocate.

Anyways, I don't want to get started about politics...Hopefully we'll all hear something soon.
