The new website launched today? http://w3.ameriflight.com/ I wonder if the portal will change. The guy standing next to the EMB skipped on his contract about 2 weeks ago.
Now that is funny!

Let me guess. Based in CVG?The new website launched today? http://w3.ameriflight.com/ I wonder if the portal will change. The guy standing next to the EMB skipped on his contract about 2 weeks ago.
Imma motha luva, you a motha luva...
Where did he end up? Somewhere good at least?
Yes, I forget the company name but its out of VNY flying jets. Story is he just started talking to some guys at an FBO and they basically offered him a job. Good guy, I just wonder how AMF feels about putting him on the site and 3-4 months after getting into the Metro he's
gone.
It seems like quite a few people are skipping out on contracts at AMF.
Barring some pretty serious extenuating circumstances or a damn good explanation, I'd have hard time hiring a guy that broke a contract, regardless of how long ago it was. That's a pretty serious integrity issue IMO.Hopefully it isn't one of the several, horrible 135 Gulfstream operators... Although at least its a type rating. When I was at AMF, skipping a contract was unheard of because the industry was poopy. AMF needs to maybe change the way they do training contacts. It clearly doesn't stop anyone from leaving to better places, so in the end, whats the point?

I think some that bounced early to regionals or entry level 135/91 may face issues down the road. Maybe not. AMF isn't by any means prestigious, but they aren't miniscule in the grand scheme of things either. I would think a negative review(not re-hirable) would be pretty unfavorable. Again, maybe not. They can't go after you for money(until the move to DFW is complete), but they can say "not re-hirable".
Well, if they are breaking a contract, they already landed a job. I don't think you can put arbitrary things such as training contracts on a PRIA. so PRIA will show they quit, and if a potential employer calls AMF asking them if they are eligible for rehire, they will say no. That is if you even put AMF down as a reference, which by that point if you did you would be an idiot. AMF management likes to think that they have ultimate control over somebody's career, that if they fire you, they give the "you'll never work in this town again!!" line, then tell everyone that they will never be able to get a job because they were fired from AMF (sniffing their own farts in the process). The reality is, everyone that has landed gear up, failed training, broke contracts, done something stupid at AMF went to bigger, better jobs that pay more, or at least a regional. I watched 2 people fail Metro upgrades in OAK, and every time AMF said they wouldn't get job at McDonalds, yet they all landed jet gigs haha.
True and you're probably right. They can call any previous employer for information though and they can say "not re-hirable" if asked.
I definitely can't say I'd risk short term gain only to get a "no" from a major or a top tier 91 gig. I feel like a place like Delta would frown upon breaking a contract or getting fired from McDonalds. McDs doesn't have a contract though...![]()
