Ameriflight memories, trauma

Talk about trauma, came across this when cleaning out the aviation library:

Decent story but he was trying way too hard to sound like Earnest Gann. Ruined it for me. Be original next time.

Oh yeah... and I miss my time at AMF (sometimes).

Hows Puerto Rico as a base for Ameriflight? Good parts/Bad parts?
The good, you can live like this!

The bad initially, REALLY bad. Look up registering a car. It's insane, but only temporary I suppose

:bang: :)
Other than that, sometimes GenAir in Aruba is slow and it can take 2 hours to get your cargo unloaded, fueled, and get you to the terminal. Happened to me on Friday while it was 103 degrees and a million percent humidity. Things also happen that can be quite irritating to be honest. Also the days can be long and you will be sweaty and tired, especially by the end of the week. We pretty much live for the weekend, and they can be amazing. You can PM me if you want

I'm based in BQN, but I've TDYed to SJU. The BQN Metro is what you want. The 1900 runs are LONG days, a little bit better flight time, but you're working all day, where as in BQN you get a 5 hour break on Mondays and 4 hours the rest of the week. The single Metro run in SJU is only 2.5 hours a day and it can be pretty awful if it's a hot and slow day on the islands. It's only an 8 hour duty day during the summer and 7 in the winter, but other than flying into St. Maarten, I'm not a fan of that run at all.

Presently, one Brasilia captain is from Aguadilla and doesn't appear to ever want to leave, and the other is the ACP, and there's only one run for that plane for now. I don't see a quick upgrade to the Brasilia happening anymore until something changes. Rumor is that St. Lucia is going back to the brasilia and also picking two more runs to Venezuala on the brasilia as well. Then there's the whole CRJ rumor... :)
