Ameriflight hiring for First Officer program

How are opportunities looking in Portland? I am looking at early spring 2017 so about 17 months from now to make the career change jump.

You are better off asking me for the winning lottery numbers! Who knows what things will look like in a year and a half; things change so fast in this industry these days. Right now, I have openings for Chieftain captains in PDX, but that can change very rapidly. And just to clarify, we don't have the EMB-120 there.

Just to clarify, there are current opening for FO's in the EMB-120? I didn't see any openings on the website to apply for. I would be interested in PHX, I have 650TT with 73 multi, how much flying do they generally do?

There are currently no FO openings at this time. Probably won't be open until the new year.

OK thanks guess I will get out my crystal ball and start polishing or ask my magic 8 ball about future openings and lotto numbers :)

I just want to fly whatever you want flown that I qualify to fly whenever I get there

A lot will change in this industry within two years time. Neither the FAA nor 135/121/91 operators know what the next 2 years will be like. They can only predict what it will be like if world economic conditions remain stagnant. We all know this industry ebbs and flow every 2-5yrs. Takes an accident, terrorist attack using aircraft, special interest, public pressure on a policy, or an economic down turn. So many variables. So don't hold your breath to long.

Two years?! Lol.....more like 2 months. Look at all the regionals that are in contract negotiations right now. By the beginning of next year it could get very interesting.

Understood

Which bases are you hiring into? I see KBFI is a EMB120 base. I am currently a CFI in the Seattle area. I just applied with 405 total time and 97 multi. I know I am under the published minimums but figured it wouldn't hurt to put in an app.

Nothing in Seattle currently

The 2 FO jobs for EMB 120 are listed at DFW

1) Must have at least 500 TT, and at least 100 hours multi-engine in fixed wing aircraft
2) FAA Commercial Pilot License with Multi-engine and Instrument ratings
3) FAA High-Performance and Complex endorsements
4) FAA First Class or Second Class Medical

Never hurts to apply though good luck

I'm not 100% certain of where the FOs will be based - it will be determined by the needs of the company at the time the trainees finish training. DFW is the new HQ for us, and the body of the description lists all Brasilia bases as potentials.

Thanks. I guess I will also give it a shot 800 hours but short on the multi time with 42 hours

Got an email back saying my application was incomplete and if I would like to be considered to complete in full.

The only thing I can see was a question "How did you first hear about this opening" but the drop down menu only offers "please select" with no options. The question did have a red * meaning required entry but I can't enter anything. I added a bit more information to work history and school I hope it works now.

The only other thing I think it might be is I did not attach a cover letter but that did not have a red *

Oh well...

They are looking for FO's again but last time they said 100 ME time this requisition says 50 ME. Submitted an updated resume a few days ago.

I did a phone interview and I assume they are I asked about how one gets to work as this is all new to me. He said they have jump seats with other companies and often pilots share crash pads.

Is that what you are asking?
