I fear even with the 12 month flying job they're going to take guys with previous 121 experience verse a CFI.
I know of several JC guys that got the call (all CFI's)... I guess they are being quiet. I'll respect that.Anyone from Jetcareers get a call for an interview?
They are calling CFIs before 121 guys and way before furloughed 121 guys. (I don't know why) Trust me I am working CC and CZ in HR just about every day trying to get Josh and CJ a call.

I had heard they wanted a pretty fair amount initially for the first batch of new hires... like 2000/1000. The guys that I know are all 1500++/800+. So I'd say that your numbers are pretty accurate.Rumors from the training center is that people making it as far as the simulator eval are 1500/500 times.
Anybody got any feedback on that?

I had heard it was the other way around... but I'm sure it's a reciprocal thing.Seems like Jim was pushing hard to get people on there recently?
Very-soon-to-be furloughed 121, with about 2000/1300, and haven't received a call or anything...
Seems like they are going with the CFI's over 121 guys.. Kinda sad, in my opinion, but I guess they have their reasons...
I never understood why they don't have a training contract. I remember back in 06 they said unless you were from the big three, you did have to resign your seniority. Problem is a lot of airlines will still honor your seniority if you resign it for another job. The resignation letter has no legal authority with the other carrier.Does AE have you resign your seniority number at your previous carrier if you're furloughed? It's possible that AE is going with CFIs so they don't spend $$$ training guys only to have them accept recall at their former carriers within a year or so. Sucks, but it's a possibility.
Sorry you got Furloughed- But some CFI's have just as much time as you do as well!- And turbine experience too!
That's great and all, but the transition from one part 121 operation to the next is probably relatively seem less.
The transition from flight instructing to part 121 flying is a pretty big jump. Doable, certainly, but I don't think it's as easy as coming from a part 121 or 135 company.
