American Eagle Hiring

Yes, it's deductible, but when you are on furlough, living on unemployment pay, 60 bucks is quite a bit of money. This is totally BS! Smart move by the Airline Apps folks to start charging now... A-holes!

Hang in there man..... I remember bugging the crap out of you when starting up! Things are going to get better... And you deserve it to get better!!!! :)

For those that didn't see the Notice...

NOTICE: Airline Apps, Inc. will no longer maintain “Single” (free) applicant accounts indefinitely. In an effort to provide our airline customers with the most up to date information and database, all non membership accounts with a published application will expire the earliest of:
1. one year from the application start date or
2. the airline’s process date or *
3. any other date set by the airline **

All non membership accounts without a published application will expire 180 days from the application start date.

Annual membership accounts will remain unchanged with regard to account access. Members will continue to enjoy unlimited access to their account during the membership period.

In order to transition to the new system, all “Single” applications started prior to 1/1/2009 will be closed on 1/31/2010. All “Single” applications started on or after 1/1/2009 will follow the expiration schedule in this notice.

* Once an airline completely processes the application, the account will be closed and the applicant will no longer have access to that application.

** An airline may choose to remove all applicants either to begin or end a hiring cycle in order to start with a clean database.

---Airline Apps, Inc., January 6, 2010

Here is what pisses me off the most...
-Annual Membership - Only $54.45 per year.
-Requires an initial setup fee of $9.95

ANNUAL fee, not lifetime! $10 set-up fee? Give me a break!

Gonzo or one of the Beagle guys could fill in on the specifics, but if I remember correctly, Beagle ALPA went to arbitration over the issue and the arbitrator decided that 244 of the Beagle guys SHOULD HAVE flowed up already, but it didn't happen.

I'm probably getting the details wrong, but the general idea is that it's been to an arbitrator and there has been a decision on this.

244 Flowthrus is only an opinion. The arbitrator did not give a specific number. Sorry to jump on you for this, but I'm hearing a whole lot of Eagle pilots say this as fact when it is very much not the case. I hope it does turn out to be at least 244, but no one knows for sure.

Is the arbitration binding? Did the 244 number come from the arbitration hearing?

Because if it's binding, and came out of that process, then I'd very much think that it's less of an opinion and more of a fact if the arbitration is binding, the number came from the decision and AMR, ALPA and the APA agreed to binding arbitration.

If the arbitration isn't binding, then what was the point of it in the first place?

And if that's the case, that's great.

But an Eagle pilot came in here and said that the arbitration was binding.
Yes, our arbitration is binding. Maybe at some other companies they have non-binding but at AE we use binding arbitration. If we didn't then we would never be able to hold management to anything.

No number was mentioned in the ruling. So for now Eagle ALPA has its opinion of what the number is, APA has theirs, Eagle has theirs, and AA has theirs.

Arbitration is binding, but he didn't rule on how many Eagle pilots are currently affected. Hopefully he will when this goes back to him in a few weeks.

I kindly suggest all Eagle ALPA pilots go to Eagle.ALPA.org and read the ruling in its entirity. It affects everyone from the top to the bottom.

There was no number mentioned because the ruling was Eagle pilots should have been recalled based on there seniority. So any Eagle pilot senior to the most junior active AA pilot should have already been called to AA.

Now do you know the number of Eagle pilots senior to the most junior active AA pilot? 244

So that is where the number comes from.

Wrong again. Just speak to the attorneys, the negotiators, or the Grievance Chair. APA thinks the number is 122 and they have proof to back up their stance. Do I think it'll get by the arbitrator? No, but a solid number was never given either.

Anyone seen R2F recently?
I'm here. I've been more of a lurker lately. Lots of stuff going on in my life recently, so I've just been chillin'.

As for the Letter 3/"flow-through"/AA Seniority number issue: The information I have is all third party.

However, we received a letter this week stating that a hearing has been scheduled for February 25-26, 2010 in DFW with back-up dates of March 30 and 31, 2010.

How it all plays out is beyond my knowledge or influence.

In my opinion though, after reading this thread, whether it's 122 or 244 who move on to AA, I'm going to say that ANY movement upwards at Eagle is good.
