Alaska Hawaiian Merger Serious Version

Yeah its a Bull market, dont break your arm patting yourself on the back.

Once the spill becomes a thing, just reduce your contribution to hit the max combined by Dec 31st

Is that the tapped up -700 I saw being towed down A in SEA recently? I’d completely forgotten about that

No engines, no APU, etc…looked so weird/out of place in SEA, like it had been left in SoDo for too long.

Yup, last rumor I heard was they were waiting to hear from Boeing on word if it was repairable.

Wow didn’t hear about this at all. Probably flew her at some point too. That’s kinda sad. In the way that you can only be so sad about a -700 dying. Which is minimal

It’s got two pilot seats. Which are becoming more rare around here by the month….

Now you’re straying into CC territory :bounce:.

I’m not talking about dollar values. I’m saying my rate of return is far above the bull market SPX or QQQ or any pension fund.

Your fiat dollars are debasing at 14% per year. The rate of returns on money from most pensions are 7%

Taking my spill money investing it and 2X in under a year sounds better to me. It also sounds better than just not participating and missing out on months of spill.

I fail to see any logic to this at all. In fact I find it comical pilots panic voting on a contract due to concerns about a recession are now telling me what kind of market we are in. It’s like clown world. Except it’s delaying my ASAP retirement.

Cool cool, so what’s your recommendation on manual transmission vehicles?

2005 Corolla is my vehicle it does have a standard shift. Any free funding I am investing right now. Hope to be retired in 4-5 years or less. Much unlike the person @word302 is comparing me to. I am not living in luxury. Buying boats or vehicles. I'm not bragging about top shelf alcohol. I also didn't panic sell my BTC 10 months ago.

You’re gonna quit in 4-5 yrs?

If I can afford to hell yeah. I'm not going to stick around and see how this clown show ends.

I don’t even know what clown show you’re referring to. You’d be fine regardless. Your horror worse case being downgraded? Even if that happens you’d be back in the left seat fairly quickly. It’s a long game, not a short term.

Ok, but you didn’t say how much you have invested in bikes. I’d retire in 5 years, but my airplane habit is expensive.

I don't know anything about GA prices anymore but my bike budget is likely less annually than my dad and I used to spend on the annual maintenance of our 152. Not including: insurance, hangar and consumables. 5K a year tops?

I built up a dirt jumper this year. Chromag Monk. Sweet bike. The total build cost was $1500. I built up the wheels myself. Installed a shorter air sping in the fork. It's super dialed.
