Early afternoon of the 28th. Still waiting to hear about where I'm going when I leave the airport though
I'm hoping they pick Ledgedale, its a nice field and not to far. Canadaigua or Batavia on the other hand are about a hour away.

You mean the new airport they're at? She told me Le Roy, although I'm not sure where that is. I'm more interested in where I'm sleeping that night when I get there. :D

Well not bad. About a 30 minute drive from the ROC. Not many hotels around there though. Batavia is just down the Thruway.

Maybe they will have us sleep in the plane we'll be flying for 7 months, like a bonding experience. :D

Training starts Oct 29th so we're all enjoying our last week or so before getting into it. They have told me that it's no longer than a week of training. So presumably we should launch by Nov 5th. Weather permitting...

I'm sure since most of us are JCers you'll be hearing a lot about it as we go.

We are arriving in Phoenix on the 22nd for training and it will be at least a week at DWAS. So we will probably launch start of November as well. Can't wait to start, should be a blast from what I hear.

Good luck to all of ya'll doing this. I had a blast doing it. Enjoy your time on the road!!:D Oh, and Batavia is a decent little airport. I was there for 2 1/2 days (almost 3 years ago now) for training. The snow kept us on the ground some. I was there at the beginning of January '05.

I know it's getting late in the season, but are any of these mapping places still looking for people?

I'm pretty sure RAMS is filled too. They had 8 pilot positions and the last email they sent out about training was CC'd to 8 people.

I'm packing right now and tomorrow, then flying out of ORD at 11am on sunday. Should be to ROC by mid afternoon sunday if all goes well. How's the hotel taha?

I'm staying with some family until Sunday so I won't be over to the hotel until Sunday afternoon. How much stuff are you bringing? I feel like I brought too much, and I still left a ton of stuff behind that I wanted to take.

I'm taking one big duffel bag for clothes, my flight bag with all my flying stuff, and a backpack for my laptop, books, camera, etc. What all did you bring that makes you feel like you have too much?
