That's great! You don't know now many people go on and on about how they have weekends off, just cranked out a puppy or two with the wife, bought a house in their growing and bustling base and how he cant afford the "pay cut" to go to a major...
Hell, I'm hardly certain my job is going to be here Monday morning, I sure as hell wouldn't feel any better if I flew subcontracted flying.

That's EXACTLY why I am hoping to escape some day. While I'm very comfortable with where I am, there is way too much outside of my control. Last summer, management decides to try to get by with minimal staffing, performance is dismal, supposedly raises the attention of our mainline partners resulting in an email to us from our DO saying "ERMYGERD! I command you to not suck! Otherwise we're screwed!"
As if we're sitting around going "yeah...screw this place, I don't feel like being on time." Instead, the finger can only be pointed at those who run the place. Airplane is broke? We're not flying it till you fix it. Captain calls in sick for an early morning flight and you guys don't have any reserves on duty that early in the morning? Your fault.
At least at a mainline carrier if management decides they don't feel like trying, the survival of your company only sort of depends on your on time performance. As long as people keep buying tickets (and we all know price is the only driving factor) you're probably going to be ok.
