9L, 9E, XJ JCBA executive summary

How much of that do you still think will be scheduled after this contract is signed? The schedules will be better and you won't see the potential for as much soft money. Then it comes down to the compensation figures.

You really don't get it, do you?

Just curious, what is you DOH at CJC?

Where do you see me trying to take from you and give to myself? I don't think you should be making less than me. So I would expect you to think you shouldn't be making more then me either.

You would only be making more from me on my back. It's my contract, my work rules, it's not fair you should benefit from me. You wanna fight about it?

Of course, ONCE AGAIN, this sarcasm is meant to serve as an example as to the other sides view, if they were brick walls. I'm sure an argument which could be stated that Colgan FO's were happy to accept jobs under such and such a rate, why do we need to give them anything. Obviously pilots here wanted to come to a company with a contract and work rules, we should get the pay. This sort of non-sense doesn't do much for me.

He's letting a self-imposed inferiority complex come through because he doesn't fly an SJ..

Hehe. There is obviously something wrong with this picture. I'm worried I'm getting sucked into his vortex of self hatred.

is there some sort of bro-mance going on here between me and you? I'm not saying I don't like it. hehe!

I don't get it. It was said earlier how because the saabs are being phased out that we shouldnt push for them to get equal rate since the saab guys will be in different equipment in a few years anyway. Why the colgan guys should accept having to wait a few years to reach parity is beyond me. We are going to lose out on thousands and thousands per pilot waiting for this magical day of parity.

Well, to get me, I think you have to see things from my eyes. The NC and MEC's at each company view this differently than me but I'm a jerk so I'll just say it. You are getting more than you would have on your own, and we are bringing you up to the rest of the pilot groups wages slowly. Meanwhile we get to push an industry leading pay on other equipment types which is important for the REST of the 3000 pilots. My God damn vote doesn't revolve around a single issue, no matter how loud and irrational he may be.

Ok guys. I'll attend the road show when it comes up this way. Thanks for talking with me.

Matt

Honestly those are the guys to talk to. I'm just a flippant ass, but I cook BBQ ribs very well. So you need to stop on in next time, and grab Snuggle, he's pissing me off not bidding for MEM.

LOL..

I'm just seeing a common thread.. "Poor pitiful me.. I chose quick upgrade over QOL and now it's backfired!" I'm really curious to know where on the list the largest complainers are coming from.. I'm going to say 1st -2nd year FO's who have been living in poverty for a year (or two) and didn't quite take account of how much $18 or $21 an hour really paid until those first few paychecks rolled in.. Been there.. Done that...

There are two big reasons why guys go to companies like Colgan.. Nothing against Colgan, I interviewed there back in 04 I think it was.. People go there for quick upgrade and/or domicile.. Sometimes it backfires.. and while the quick upgrades may be going away, QOL will change for these guys and they can't see it..

If you guys don't like your TA, vote no.

If you think CJC could have done better just as Colgan, can you forward your dealers info to me? He truly has the goods.

Ew man. Is an XJ/9E bro-mance even possible? I kid I kid. Good to be on the same team for a change. When's the kegger?

I am really sad to hear you say that. I would have expected more from you.

Well, I don't know who you are....but you seem to know who I am, so give me a call and we'll talk about it. Then, if you still want to moan after getting yourself informed, well, that's your right to do so.

What's really sad is to see a bunch of CJC pilots whining about a TA that is actually very solid and has many, many gains for us without properly informing themselves of the details.

As soon as the 9L pledges (I keed, I keed) show up with the tap...

LOL, good one. Careful now, you know how things can get misinterpreted on an internet message board.

BBQ ribs and a keg. Sounds good to me. Makes sense to do it somewhere down south.

While I dont like the differant rate for grandfathered Mesaba pilots, although I understand why it was done. I also understand that voting no based on that fact alone would be stupid.

If I get to vote (I pass probation in 7 days), then I will vote yes.

You'll get a vote...

That's fine. That means the schedules get more efficient. More efficient schedules mean more days off. I'd much rather reach the scheduling block hours caps with 13 or 14 days off rather than 11 days off. That's the job of the min day: to force better schedules or compensate for not having an efficient schedule. I think guys are getting too wrapped around the axle about what they're gonna see on the 1st and the 16th and losing what happens during the days between.

If you stuck with the "plan" and merged with Mesaba, odds are pretty good the junior Colgan guys would be seeing $0 since they'd be furloughed as the Saabs got parked. Sure, some more Qs would come into play, but I believe 26 Saabs were looking to be parked with 15 Qs on order so far. Mesaba's already a bit on the overstaffed side today. So, you'd be riding the "we're better off withouth the JCBA" right to the furlough line. Either way, the Saab rates won't matter in a couple of years.

We already get soft money. And if we got mesabas contract we would get more soft money. My huge issue is that everyone is already getting all the soft pay extras you speak of in this TA, except for the northeast colgan guys of course which no one seems to care about, and the other pilots pay scales are being beefed up at the expense of the colgan guys. Saying we are getting improvement so we should just shut up and be happy is outrageous. I expect everyone should deserve to be on the same playing field and thats not the way it is right now and that should outrage everyone.

Ok, you just need to stop talking because you are proving how clueless you are in this process. The sad thing is you get one vote for this TA just as a well informed pilot does.

Lets take a reality check.....

Dont get too sad about the out station bases not getting mid day pay because there will soon be no more out station bases so why in the world would we fight to protect bases that will be gone. Boston will be a base eventually, deal with it.

Also, you have been at Colgan for for 10 months so dont begin to talk to me about your "struggle." The struggle was with the guys who have been here for years, pre ALPA, and have had to fight for simple things like safety, no less pay increases of QOL.

I am going to guess that you have been in the 121 world for only 10 months because your statement that "other pay scales were beefed up at the expense of Colgan pilot" is about as logical as what I would expect for a 10 month old child. THEY ARE TAKING A PAY CUT FOR THE COLGAN PILOT. Understand? Probably not. MSA could have done much better in Section 6 but they realize that this JCBA would benefit them. I would hardly say that PCL's pay is being beefed up as well, they are being brought back to where they should have been. Do you realize that after near 6 years ammendable they could have signed a CBA and become ammendable again during that time and working on increasing their contract again. Do you even know what Section 6 means?

It may sound "mean" for me to say but after only being here for 10 months you should still be probationary. That is the reason why probationary pilots cant vote, because they are uninformed on the big picture. At 10 months you should still be looking at the window taking pictures of sunsets with your camera saying "How cool it is you get paid to do this."

My rant is over and I wont reply anymore to you posts because you are so misguided Paul it is not even funny.

I am going to have to take you up on that BBQ one of these days, Joe. Do you do a good brisket? Or are you a ribs and chicken guy?
