9E Announcement

Yeah, years ago, but what difference does that make, I'm a dues paying ALPA member now... You want to throw stones, lets go...
Actually, you're the one who chucked a stone... that was just my teasing riposte. It doesn't even mean anything—I think most pilots would love to have experienced what you experienced it, even if you hated it.

Even if I was celebrating with you when you announced you were moving on.

You choose your family. When pilots go to war with pilots, management laughs all the way to the bank.

He's not wrong, although if "reminding them" consists of general d-bag moves against an entire group of 4,000+ pilots, like denying jumpseats, that's another case.

By no means am I advocating a jumpseat war or any kind of d-bag moves. But telling them that their actions had implications outside of their student counsel ran airline is certainly appropriate.

A good number of them already know that. The yes voters won't care.

Either way, it is what it is. Skywest (along with every other regional) is about to hit significant staffing issues. And with the amount of flying OO is trying to take on, they're putting themselves in a tough position if things head south there for recruiting, especially if all the W/O carriers get a nice raise.

In terms of the TA, I hope its decent. I have no expectation for any career progression, because it's not something that's really likely. Hopefully there is enough to get people to vote yes.

What's the mgmt angle? Interested to see what's in it

I lol'd. Love it when everyone pulls out their snowglobes and predicts the future. Icing on the cake was you saying you need to target Skywest pilots to make sure we know we voted in a joke of a contract.

How do you go about that exactly? Am I going to get cornered when I take a jump or buying lunch at Quiznos? Just trying to prepare myself for my punishment from the keyboard warriors (even though you'll never know who votes yes/no or didn't vote at all!) :bounce:

It really is impossible for some people to just go to work, smile, enjoy their day, and be courteous to other colleagues no matter what airline they're at.

It's pretty easy to figure out who voted yes. The no voters get on jumpseats and bad mouth their yes voting colleagues as being a bunch of spinless lifers.

I assume anyone who isn't angry voted yes.

That's all the criteria? Lol.

There are still plenty out there beating the dead horse about 1%. I see it almost daily on our FB group. I personally think it's annoying and would like to just move on from it. It's over. Why divide ourselves?

I was an automatic no voter and felt like we deserved much better, but that was at the time of discussions not months after. I just find it hilarious that I'm reading how Endeavor guys are getting what sounds like a nice pay bump (feeling happy for them and the new 900 growth), just to find out there are guys there still complaining about Skywest's TA!! Lolol. I get what his point was how it doesn't look good for them at the contract table, but suggesting they're going to make a fool of the yes voters? Just goes to the pile with the denied jumpseats for management decisions that have nothing to do with a pilot. Just my 2 cents. I still get death glares from people I smile and say hi to when I walk by. Maybe I know why now:biggrin:

And goes on jc to tell us just fuhgeddaboudit and move on, as if those of us who can actually vote to improve our substandard shops will not continue spending hours in cruise giving them a good ribbing while in our jump

Getting paid by the company (a higher wage) to rib the Skywest guys? You should buy the skywest guy a latte for listening to it :).

I think you misunderstand how pattern bargaining works.

I'm not getting a higher wage.

Keep in mind i came in partway through so i may have stepped in the middle of wrong discussion and if so i apologize.

If 9E is making more than skywest, apple to apple, then they should only rib the skywest guy if they buy them a latte was my only point. You'll still be making more and ur not as much of an idiot.

Also it's weird that your ribbing another company employee while your guest and being being paid by your own. Endeavor the company would naturally not condone the situation but it's just kind of goofy.

Commuters are commuters and they are their own airline. Smart commuters dont rib other company pilots because someday you'll need a ride.
