9E Announcement

Happened at my shop. I was a guaranteed lineholder. Ended up with less days off than a reserve line holder (they were guaranteed 12). Granted I credited more but I don’t care about that. ALL ABOUT THE QOL. No way a line holder should have less days off than a reserve (unless done voluntarily).
Happens at AA.

Happened to me at Pinnacle. 11 day off lines for 6 months in a row.

QOL is everything.

It’s pretty weak. I’m voting no.

Vote no and send it back to the table for renegotiation. There's nothing that says one has to take the first offer. Sending it back will tell mainline that you guys are serious about the long term for future new hires who will come after you. This is a seven year contract, yes?

The ephemeral nature of regional airline work makes it hard to see beyond the immediate term. And don't fall for the threat of whipsaw. All the regionals can't hire enough people anyways.

Not in an us vs them, or a this is better than what you got way....

With the SAP at PSA I've never had less than 14 days off and 85 credit.

Just something to think about when you're negotiating days off.

Now to work on our subpar reserve rules ...but that's a different topic.

Yes the SAP is a great tool, but 9E needs to really set the bar high and this is the opportunity given the current hiring climate to do so. I would love Delta to one up AA in a very big way. Competition is a good thing.

Exactly, While converting the bonus rates into a hard rate is awesome to the 9th degree - I would definitely be pushing for major improvements in other areas which in my humble opinion this TA is very sorely lacking.

two cents...

That's not the case at 9E. In fact, junior line holders are generally 11 days off, and sometimes pushed as high as 100+ credit.
Seems like the junior 200 pilots are the ones only getting 11 days off. Even the junior 900 pilots are holding like 15 days off.

Whaaaaat? I think you’re looking at people who bid max line range. I did that over the summer and got 100+ credits because they were paying 200% over 85 hours. Normally it’s 150% over 85 hours which incentivizes the company to keep lines below that. Anybody getting more that that was probably bidding max credit.

It's happened before and it will happen again, especially in the credit push.
