2023 Christmas Meltdown competition entries…

AA flight attendants seem to think they may go on strike next month. A 30 day cooling off period would end shortly before Christmas.

I rate this version of a meltdown as incredibly unlikely but there is a non-zero percent chance it could happen. If a strike would happen I see the NMB finding a way to delay it into the off-season.
Things I’d bet my shoe don’t happen

@Roger Roger

Btw, if you haven't been told already. Assuming you are staying in the hotel near HQ. The Casino down the street offers 50% off to AS employees every Thursday. Alcohol included.

We’re over by the airplane factory and the other set of sims. Great location and the hotel seems good to me but the van ride across town is a bit of a grind during rush hour

Oh yea, that's where my sim partner was at. Way better area.
I’m glad they have the whole class in one place this time. I’m not to that part yet but it seems like it would be inconvenient to not be staying in the same place as your sim partner

Yea it wasn't ideal. It made for extra time spent at the training center to review but it all worked out.

I’m going to nominate SJI for thanksgiving and Xmas. Lots and lots of open time through both holidays and not many reserves available.
Ya know...A big part of me thinks that with double pay AND holiday pay, we're going to watch that open time mostly evaporate. Another part of me, the hopeful part, is waiting to see that if having a workforce where 30% have been hired in the last 2 years, almost entirely millennials, is going to turn its back on picking up the money in favor of quality time.

In the meantime, I'm having a good laugh at the guys who bid to get vacation over the holidays, and are now not only entirely unable to receive the new holiday pay, but are publicly complaining that they should be getting it anyway. These people will never achieve true happiness before they die. Sucks to suck, I guess.

Wait, how does this work? They took vacation time(?) and now if they help the schedule they are ineligible for the premium rate if they interrupt their vacation?(!)

Yeah, sorry. Work rules do not allow the ability to pick up flying during paid vacation. I know that isn't standard everywhere, but it protects us from ourselves and creates more jobs.

Ah didn't realize it was paid vacation and not just, like, blocked time. Tanks!
