121 guys, how does this happen? (AKA,Oh Delta)

Culinary? Not the food I like. I have yet to find good Arabic food ANYWHERE in America outside Dearborn, MI. I live for this every time I go to Michigan.

Although there is Sbarros in the mall that’s 2 minutes away.

If you’re looking for good non-American food (or any good food for that matter) in the same places you could get Sbarro, you’re going to have a tough time—not a lot of intersection in that Venn diagram.

Although—my company has a large presence in Oman and the UAE, and a lot of Omanis and Emiratis work for us over there who do rotations here. One of them stayed, and his family ended up opening a kickass restaurant in our mall (which doesn’t have a sbarrro).

He calls it “Mediterranean” because, you know, Texas, but it’s Arabic cuisine.

Haji Baba in Tempe, AZ. AND it's built inside of a market, even better.

I need to know much more about this!
Kind of spendy but they were pretty tasty.

Beirut in DTW; it ain’t cheap & Mama-San is crazy, but boy is it good. They feed you too, you leave hungry its your fault.

Now I want hummus, with the good chewy thin pita bread, not the soft thick stuff you can get at Krogers…

She's super crazy.

I had a $18 tab, money clip full of $100's (I had a nice night at the craps table in Vegas the previous night) and when she thought I was going to throw a hundo down, she was ready to fight. Whew!

Yeah, I used to like to dine in, but after seeing her turn the drama knob to 11 a few times, and once to 13 and then busting it off with a hammer, I’m a carry out guy now.

Oh yeah, grab 'n go for me! :)

Order my shawarma plate, EXTRA pickles, head next door to the liquor store for some brewskis, come back, pick it up, back to the hotel.

So taking the fastest route available to a major isn’t ok now?
Nope, you gotta walk up hill both ways to school, sit at a regional for 10+yrs, go through a furlough, and at least 2 divorces. Some folks are just salty because they didn't have the same opportunities.

The thing is, I don't believe CC has done most of that. Based one what he's said he has never been furloughed and wasn't stuck at the regionals for a whole decade.

this is a good place to start.

One type of cuisine can only be found in one suburb in a country of 330 million people….LAWL

Man if you can't find good food of any variety in California you're just not trying.

No. Not when it comes to good quality Arabic food. Had some friends take us to a restaurant in Orange County for what they said was great Arabic food. I ate there. It wasn’t great. Not when Dearborn is your base line. It was basically meh. Maybe not even meh.

I will say I haven't had middle eastern food that was as good as the source, while in the US. Also, the mutton and goat scene here is really not what it is in a lot of places. Though admittedly not my absolute favorite proteins, I've never had them compare here to when being served overseas. I'm not sure if that is an issue of quality of source ingredients, or just technique being butchered.
