at large university flying club and flight school. Duties include providing flight and ground
instruction, oversight of all flight operations, involvement in related administrative
functions and participation in promotional activities. An appreciation of the importance of
customer service and interpersonal skills are fundamental to the position. You need to be a
self starter with a positive, upbeat personality that can naturally motivate students.
Instructors operate as independent contractors and earn $40/hr or more. A fun and lively place
to work. Requirements: Applicant must posses the following: Commercial and current CFI-Airplane
pilot certificates, Second Class Medical Certificate. No past criminal or DUI convictions.
Applicant must considerably exceed PTS standards for knowledge and skill. Strong teaching
ability required. Solid, work ethic is a must.

Just called them today...said they are not hiring any CFI's. It strikes me as a waste of money to post this on climb350 and then not need and CFI's.

Reminds me of the job post for ASA FO back in Aug, even though they weren't.

Job boards are having a tough time comming up with jobs. They need to list them otherwise people paying good money for them will feel ripped off.

I'm not saying anything specifically about 350.com one way or the other, but many job boards will recycle old ads and or blatantly write up fake ones.

I wouldn't necessarily blame ASA or UofMFlyers for a job posted that doesn't exist.

How do they usually run them?

Do they pay for a time like 6 months and run it the entirety of the duration regardless if the position gets filled?

I recently canceled every single one of my paid job site subscriptions. I thought to myself, "Wouldn't it be a great scam to take people's money, post up BS jobs and then never do anything with their resumes?"

Get out while you still can... there's no way any of them are legitimate anymore.

I hope you are exaggerating enough to be at least partially wrong about this. However, what your comment says to me is:
1) Investigate any job leads with e-mail and calls to the extent possible.
2) This board is a great networking tool that needs to be used both by the job seeker and those that have jobs and know of new ones opening up.

Your post is a good warning. Let's keep helping each other out.

I know there are certain pilot job boards which do in fact "recycle" aged job postings. Is this to increase their share, to promote the appearance that they are "The" job board?

Somewhat unrelated is my observation that there was a marked difference in the before and after I joined ClimbTo350. Before I paid my $$ I saw a lot of jobs I thought I was qualified to do. After I joined, those jobs were magically, all of a sudden, very infrequent. This was in July 2007. My skeptical mind causes me to think these were teasers to entice me to join.

Honestly, I would like to know if anyone got a job from this thread.

 Splash - I contacted one person posted in here and if you would like to see the response - go ahead and hit me. It is so ridicoulous that it is not possible to post it here.

After ten hours at my stupid factory job Id like to hear it. Send it to me.

Off of Find a Pilot...may be a good gig?

I trust *this* board 1000 times more than the paid sites. I'd be interested in knowing if anyone ever received a phone call from any job they "sent" their resume to through a paid site.

I'm all for the JC forums now... I'd much rather donate to a site that is networked and intelligent, not fancy graphics and false promises.

JBOYNM - I have received several phone calls off of climbto350.com. I have been looking at that site for about 3 weeks now. Four calls in three weeks isn't bad.

Sorry to hear those sites didn't work out for you. Though I have never actually applied to anybody from the sites, Colgan saw my resume and invited me to apply. So somebody for the company is watching the websites .

6 months ago I sent a resume to Colgan via climbto350.com
I was expecting to hear nothing back... Chuck Colgan himself gave me a call 2 hours after posting it!!

I don't know anything about this airline but this post is somewhat recent. I found it through airlinepilotcentral.com. Go to the Lynx Aviation jobs page and there you have it. GOOD LUCK!
