Well, as we move past the halfway part in the week, it's looking unlikely. I hope someone "checks back" with "Pam" because we're about to see yet another week come and go without our freaking geo. prefs! With each day (or week) that goes by, I'm starting to believe the reports of a two or three month wait. We're closing in on 7 weeks since scores posted.

The other announcements heard around the 4th or 5th of the month, I think. That's our weekend, so maybe Friday or Monday?

Man... this is such a roller coaster. I think it's more frustrating to hear promises about getting it from people at the FAA on a certain date than not hearing anything at all.

I'm calling them up tomorrow, I'll post up here whatever they tell me.

Try Elaine McCollum (Human Resources Specialist) at (405)-954-6386. Another member of the forum here said she was very helpful to them in garnering info. in the past.

Damn. I just called (as Pam told me Geo Prefs would be out by mid week and to call if I had not received it...). I was transferred to someone, didn't catch the name,who seemed to know what they were talking about. I was told that the panel recently met for Pubnat2 and was not expected to reconvene until December/January. "Patience is being asked of everyone". Do not expect Geo Prefs until Dec/Jan. Good Luck Guys.

I just talked to some guy and he had no idea what was going on. He just said "the meetings for PUBNAT2 are this week, so you'll probably in a month." I specifically asked about Nov or Jan panels and he didn't have any answer at all.

If his name was "Matt Ditmer" then he's a quintessential deck, and doesn't know what in twinkle-toed Christ's name he's talking about.

I once was transferred to him, during our two-month wait for ATSAT notification, and he told me nothing useful, just drilled it into me that I best be "patient". He said I'd have to wait 2 mos., or something outrageous, and the e-mail came a few weeks later.

Only steers and queers come from OKC.
 
Wow. I had no idea. He worked with my husband this summer. Hmm. I thought he was really good. He always returned emails and calls immediately. In any case, my point was I am not going to call anymore until I hear something directly from HR. I have a good feeling something will happen soon.

This doesn't make sense for many reasons:

1. We've already heard about November -- verified from MANY sources (incl. more when I went to ZNY on Tues.).

2. That kind of a time lapse is unheard of in any past PUBNAT announcements.

3. Though they are very slow and inefficient, I still do not think that they would make us sit around for six months for panels, when they have three other announcements waiting behind us.

4. Anyone's "info" from the Careers hotline should be automatically disregarded, because those people do not know what it is going on, and I don't know why people still call there, instead of doing five minutes of research and finding someone further up the chain. It's insipid, and plain lazy.
 
I forgot to mention -- keep in mind that we still have until next Friday, in order for the appropriate time to pass before an 11/17 Panel date, if that were it.

Also, maintain the possibility that we may have less than a three week "submit" period for our geo. prefs., due to the small size of our group.

I apologize for not answering your e-mail earlier; we are currently experiencing an overwhelming number of e-mails and phone calls.

This is a lengthy process and could take a year, as a minimum, or longer from the day you apply to the day you would be able to start the academy.

We will evaluate your application to determine if your work experience/college meets the minimum qualification. If you meet the qualifications, you will receive an email from our contractor, RVA, setting a date/time/location to take the ATSAT test. This process could take up to 3 months after the closing date of the application that you applied for. After the ATSAT test, if you pass with a 70% or higher, you will be given a chance to select 2 states as your geographical preference and whether you want En Route or Terminal or whichever comes available first. We have a selection panel that convenes once a quarter to make their selections, so you will not receive the geographical preference e-mail until approximately 2 months prior to a selection panel conveying. At this time, we do not have a selection panel scheduled until after January 1, 2009. We will then create referral lists for the panel that will make tentative selections from that announcement. If you are selected, you will be contacted to get you set up for an interview and to attend a Pre-Employment Processing Center (PEPC) for your medical and security; this could take approximately 3 months after the conclusion of the selecting process. After completing the required medical and security examines, it could take up to several months before we could get you scheduled into an academy class. This depends upon the number of classes that we have scheduled and whether or not they have been filled. As you can see, the hiring process is lengthy, so your patience is greatly appreciated.

WOW....

Dont you remember me saying about a MONTH ago that you will have a LONG wait? And then you kept saying that there will be a pannel in November, blah blah blah...

Looks like I was right on this one...or am I "coming down" on you again?
