PUBNAT3

Cool! We've heard the November date also, so it's good to hear that from another source. And someone above just mentioned the Jan panels, which I figured were for PUBNAT4. So both of those things fit with what we've heard.

I think PUBNAT 1 and 2 had their geo prefs 3 weeks before panels. For panels the 1st or 2nd week of November I'd expect to see them the week of October 20 at the latest. That would also fit with the 2-3 month after AT-SAT test range that we were given.

Don't we have like 3 weeks to submit our geo prefs after we receive the email? If so, I would think sending the email out only 3 weeks before panels would not leave a large enough window of time. I would think we would have to get the email no later than the first part of Oct.

PUBNAT1
Received geo pref email 5/2
Geo prefs due 5/23
Panels started 6/9

PUBNAT2
Received geo pref email 8/4
Geo prefs due 8/24
Panels started 9/8

PUBNAT3
???
Seeing PUBNAT1 & 2, it seems that they would leave 2 weeks between the dates the prefs are due and the beginning of panels... then add the three weeks of geo prefs... you're looking at getting geo pref emails around 5 weeks before panels.

1. Geo Prefs.
2. ~3-wk. wait.
3. Referral list a few days before panels.
4. Panels for a week.

That would definitely make sense, if we were to:

- Receive our geo. prefs by Friday.
- Submit them by 10/17.
- Two-week wait before panels the week of Nov. 3-7.

In other words, we are more or less guaranteed our geo. prefs within the next two weeks. If the panels were to be the week of Nov. 10-14, we'd get them by next Friday with a five-week guideline.

Okay, so I figured it was my turn to call the career line. Just got off the phone with Pam, who told me that we would be receiving our geographic preferences "sometime next week" and that we should "call back if you don't get it then because we might not have the correct email address."

Woo hoo!

Great news man...G/L to you guys...so that puts us nat4's on par with maybe geo prefs in Nov or Dec

Is there something wrong with Pam? She just told someone yesterday that we'd be getting it by Friday.

Betch can't get her story straight.

Sometimes I think they genuinely don't know. For example, as I have stated elsewhere, I call them to ask when I would get my test score. I was told it would be a couple of weeks, maybe even months. Two hours later they were posted on ASAP.

I take everything time line related with a grain of salt. Don't get me wrong, I'm as anxious as the next guy, but it will happen when it happens....

Same here.

I haven't called that line since before we were notified for testing, and I don't intend to again. If I need anything else at this point, I will go further up the chain.

One week isn't really going to matter at this point, considering that we'll need to wait three weeks before the geo. prefs. "close".

Then another two before panels.

Sucky.

Four months of waiting down, X to go.

*sigh*

I hope we get geo preferences this week. The other announcements all got theirs the first week of the month. So that would fit, except we're one month behind the pattern at this point. We have 5 weeks until the first week of November, 6 if they meet the second week. Geo prefs and referral lists would make this wait a little nicer.

I wonder if we'll have less time to decide on the geographic preferences since our group is smaller, though.

Maybe we'll have some Christmas news to tell our families...

It's quite possible that they might shorten our time to submit geo. prefs, because of our group's size, but then again, we've never seen it done before.

It seems like our group has already fell out of the usual timetable from the get-go, considering that it took two months to be even approved for our AT-SATs.

I seriously hope you guys get going so, I would hate if PUBNAT1, and some of PUBNAT2 where the only ones that actually got to OKC in the year of 08. Plus it seems there are more females in the later PUBNAT's jk jk, Don't hurt me ladies, I kid I kid, I love you all.

He'd love to love you all.

I love lamp.

Seriously, this wait is driving me nuts. I think we've pretty much exhausted all there is to talk about until we get those preferences in.

Yep I think so too...now I'm just spending my time studying for my Aircraft Dispatcher written exam and listening to JFK Tower on liveatc.net

I've just returned from a tour of ZNY today...what a place. I learned quite a bit, as well.

I strongly encourage everyone to take any opportunities extended to tour any local facilities, even if you do intend to go somewhere across the country. To objectively observe a center/tower in action is priceless, will help you decide what kind of an environment you want to work in, and besides... you never know who you might meet who could possibly help you along in this absurdly long process. You also learn a ton -- and though I can't speak for those working at every facility, everyone I met today was refreshingly kind and welcoming.

It was a good day.
