PUBNAT3

well, if you get picked up PUBNAT 6 I guess it could be up to a year...especially since things seem to be slowing down. Maybe someone else has their own idea, but it seems that for Pubnat 2 the timeline is shaping up to be somewhere in the 9 month range...I guess we will have to wait and see for sure.

Even 9 months is optimistic. Remember that those terminal guys with class dates are going to critically staffed facilities. There are many of us still waiting, and others who just got their dates around 9-10 months after application (with some even in the 18+ month range).

Pubnat1 was the first national publication, so this could cause a backlog to everyone else. Just look at the current OKC classes. If every class only holds 20 people, then you could EASILY be backed up for months. Some en-route and tracon classes are only held once every few months.

The FAA official present at my AT-SAT told me that they are also trying to extend OKC class dates for practical reasons. They are trying to provide each person with several (he said, "around three") months of preparation, instead of expecting people to abandon their entire lives in two-weeks.

That stinks. I'd rather pick up in 2 weeks than wait around 3 months.

Providing people with several months of preparation sounds more like a euphemism for wait longer.

He made it seem like there were other people who disagreed with him, about the 3-month wait...so it's anybody's guess.

I would rather pick up in two weeks, too.

I'd rather pick up two weeks ago. :o

I any other case I would love to get picked up in 2 weeks or so but seeing the pay cut that I'll be taking makes me want to cont @ my job for as long as possible to pay off more debt, save more money and gather up some more leave days(military) so i can double dip. I have 16.5 if i can get 30 im lookin at a whole months pay of NYC BAH, COLA base pay and some while @ the school house.:D

hey how are you? glad that you made it! i wonder how everyone else did. where are you trying to go.

I'm Good... I will preference Terminal in FL and maybe UT. I hope to become a controller by next year!!! I can't wait... lol. Where are you trying to go?

Is anybody else still waiting for there scores

Just to make sure you're checking the right place, your score should be on the ASAP home page right above where it says you were authorized to take the test. It should also be under User Information and then Test Information. If it's not there, you should definitely check up on it.

Maybe he got over 100% and they aren't equipped to report scores that high so they just trashed him.

They've probably lost your application, CBleuel. 50-100 or so get accidentally misplaced with each group. They warn you of that in the original announcement.

this is a change of topic but since its coming up what is everyone thinking about putting for their geo preferences? Im putting CA (southern san diego and la) and NY (NYC) terminal i think

I'll choose IL terminal - more specifically, the Chicago Area. I'm still deciding about enroute.

On Friday I had a tour of GEG Spokane Intl (dream facility). It was very nice and the people were awesome! The only deterrent for me is the lack of traffic at that level 8 facility, the controllers almost looked bored (I could be wrong about that). When I toured Seattle Center it seemed like they were always on their toes and that has a little better appeal to me. Does anybody else feel the same way about the facility pick and the level of traffic? How is it effecting your GEO PREF decision?

It plays a pretty huge part for me. I want to be doing something where I'm keeping on my toes, but at the same time, I'm trying to be aware of the places that the experienced controllers have advised people fresh out of OKC to avoid (i.e. Atlanta Hartfield). Trying to strike that balance...

Coincidentally, I think Seattle is first up on my geo list, whenever that comes in. I'd prefer tower at Sea Tac, but may consider Center as well. Maybe we'll be seeing each other before too long, eh.
