DCA near miss Delta/Bluestreak vs AF T-38

Why doesn't someone step in and just ban all non-commercial aircraft from that entire airspace? There are other ways around.

Let’s turn Andrews into a second commercial airport and turn DCA into a “helicopter carrier.”

If a congresscritter or their hostlers want a rapid trip to a jjjet they can take one of them electric VERTOL things from DCA to either IAD or ADW.

If that’s the case, civilian and government/military traffic is going to have to coexist. Which isn’t a hard ask, as it’s been being done and done safely there for decades, and before any of us here were born.

Unfortunately as readily as people would happily go with this course of action I think JB-Andrews has entered too big to fail status when we packed a bunch of BRAC’d stuff into it and consolidated.

Could I however interest you and billions of dollars on another way forward…..

I can’t stand that it is needed. But even our nation’s capital can’t seem to manage the whole “fast train from airport to downtown” thing so here we are.

It’s more than that. Having a metro station at Dulles is nice.

It is still an unreasonable walk from the metro to security. They really hosed that one up.

The government takes too much of my money, and I'm tired of people behaving like children on the Internet. I'm going to go make myself a G&T and turn off teh interwebz.

I used to use the Heathrow Express back in my corporate days. Way better than spending two hours getting mild whiplash in stop and go traffic. It would knock 45 minutes off the livery car trip.

At least you get a G&T. The big boys definitely take too much of my money, but I guess that’s not a terrible problem to have. But yeah, it’s safe the say that anything glaringly inflammatory that Morgy-poo posts is either extremely sarcastic, or extremely sarcastic but meant to get a rise out of you.

As long as you’re not @jhugz early in the morning or an older British guy, you should be safe though.
