DCA near miss Delta/Bluestreak vs AF T-38

Yup, but it would be nice to not have race, sex, DEI, politics, etc. interjected into a thread when no one has claimed the incident was related to those factors. It would have made more sense in in the other DCA thread. Here, it just seems like a rant, something uncalled for, out of place.

I'm not saying this is the case here, but there are also people that pull the race/gender card claiming discrimination for almost any adversity they experience in life. I've been it happen. Carry on.
That’s not what’s happening here. In this case, the context encompasses various events over the last few months. What derg is saying is that safety, safety investigations, and possible good solutions have been muddied by recent BS involving unwarranted speculation in the race/sex spectrum.

I don’t think you’re trying to understand the subtlety of the message.

It’s always perfectly fine to “cut bait” and revisit topics of confusion at a later date, with fresh eyes.

I feel like we should just change this to one big 'Oh DCA...' thread.

Kite confiscated after apparently hitting United plane in Washington area
"The United flight landed with no issues, the airline said. Police said they briefly confiscated a kite from Gravelly Point, where flying kites is prohibited because of low-flying aircraft."

FAA investigating alleged fight in DCA Air Traffic Control tower
"Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) officials said they are looking into reports of an alleged fight in the Air Traffic Control at Reagan National Airport, according to a brief statement to 7News late Friday night."

Well, as controversial as this sounds, this is what happens when we blame brown people and women for everything.

Solutions go unexplored and problems never recognized.

Some of us tried to warn but were shouted-down.

These are the consequences. Enjoy.
Classic libtard thinking 😂

You’re a special kind of oblivious… when Donny Dipsht blamed the DCA crash on DEI it it undermined the cause all together. So it continues to not be addressed and that’s how it applies here. With all of the explanation required I bet you’re a horrible person to tell a joke to.

Do you watch the news? The context is the political environment in the United States. You're literally swimming in it right now, whether you're paying attention or not.
This specific set of problems is also older than the current political zeitgeist.

1. Who cares what Johny Dip• thinks? People will always have their opinions. It doesn't help what we have a president who claimed it was DEI, but he's not the NTSB.

2. It was unsettling and unwelcome that someone randomly interjected race, gender, and politics into a thread about an incident when there hasn't been a public claim that the incident was related to those things. It gets tiring.

That’s not true at all. He can’t make that claim with any authority. The official investigations haven’t come out so it makes no sense. Just because the boob in the Oval Office made a comment and a few internet trolling pilots on some air line forum said something doesn’t mean anything has changed in the investigation process or the way the investigations will be conducted. Nothing in the prelim gives even a hint that sex race or orientation are in play. So it a non sequitur. And I’m with
Arkavgal it makes no sense. And is just a rant for no reason other than to lash out at some perceived injustice.

1. Johnny Dip• votes, in case you didn’t notice.

2. Yawn.

What does race or gender gave to do with this incident?

You accused me of being obtuse in regards to passing sim world and failing IOE, and that even you knew why that could happen. How is it you can understand that topic, yet this one goes over your head? I’ll clue you in…

You had our President stand in front of national TV the morning after the crash and start immediately railing about and blaming DEI for the crash. If you don’t get what Derg was implying, then you need to open your eyes more.

Sometimes, tho' you have a shovel, the best course of action is to just stop digging.

Although you seem dead-set on doing so, the better course of action might be to just not be an ass ... or obtuse, at best.

You received several concise, relevant and good answers to your query which politely explained your error in understanding.

Yet, here you are, digging ever deeper🤷‍♂️

None of it is over my head. I have a Master's degree and work in psych. I understand the psychosocial issues very well. I understood the meaning and implications of derg's words. The fact that you think I do not understand the meaning of @derg's words when my only question was about the context of his words related to this incident makes me wonder if you have basic reading comprehension. Now who is being obtuse?

I asked him if people were claiming race/gender had something to do with this incident. He said there were no such claims, so its presence in this thread is not logical.

It would have made sense in the other DCA thread because Trump publicly stated it was DEI-related. That's not the case with this incident. If one looks at this thread in isolation, without reading other threads, @derg's comment is out of context in the discussion, out of place.

That's it. It's that simple. Why he picked this thread to make that statement is confusing and comes across as a rant.

It’s pretty straightforward. He’s saying because of all the blame placed on DEI for the past few incidents/accidents, the actual root causes are being diminished. Thus, implementing fixes to increase safety becomes more difficult. Here we are back at DCA where the same exact accident almost happened again.
Please present evidence that the FAA and NTSB are failing to investigate the root causes of accidents because they assume that race or gender played a role.
