Latest offer from FedEx management: We know it sucks here, we worked out an offer for you guys to go to PSA instead!

What's nice is that there is enough variation in schedules across fleets (and even within fleets) for individuals to find and roost in whatever works best for them.

For a while the week on/week off hub turn schedules floated my boat. Then it was the 4-day west coast deadheads that primarily went through Indy and generally avoided MEM. Now it is the Asia international stuff (tactically bidding to avoid CAN, PVG, SZX, etc.) that I'm finding enriching.

And, best, I know there's something else I can go find when I get sick of 60-hour HNL layovers that I bring my wife out for.

Orlando is great for people watching. It's the Walmart of major airports.

Orlando stresses me out as a passenger and also as crew. It just feels like the entire airport is run via a memo written by someone that's never been to the airport and the employees that didn't read it or came to do any actual work.

>Pre-Security_Atlanta_Airport ENTERS THE CHAT!

I left Angry Widget during negotiations and then went back on a few months ago. I left again last week and I'm so happy I did. I hate it. I'm willing to bet FedEx has some real doozies on SM.
You’re not missing anything. Even the certain list number + group has gotten bad os of recent. I just don’t need social media.

They seem to be offering it to our early-outs. I haven't been given an invitation, myself. What's wrong with ME?
I'm not worried about you taking this opportunity if it arises for you. Now, a clapped out MU2 flying diseased monkeys and buffalo semen cross-country at night in bad weather...yes, I'd say you'd jump at that. But not flying one of these regional jet things.

For the same dosh? In a heartbeat! No thought required!

Upon reflection I suppose no thought would be a job requirement...

It’s definitely not for me, nor is it for anyone else according to modern medical science.

It’s why I like international infra-Asia flying. It’s night flying, but for my body clock it’s day flying. On long layovers I wake up around 7-8 pm and then go out. Hiking and stuff I do early in the morning. Then I sleep all day.

Works great for me. Some people have FOMO and can’t handle that schedule, but they sure look tired trying to adjust to different time zones.
How much stuff can you see or do at 3am besides going to a bar.

Someone go get FDXMEC communications, they're not okay:

I wish I was smart enough to understand why the sky is falling and the union needs to be decertified and sued. Didn’t think all this union stuff would be so over my head when I got to a shop where I was represented. 🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s easy to campaign on burning • to the ground and it’s really hard to govern that way, it turns out.

Sort of like national politics.

It has been an interesting day or three watching Purple pilots on social media rationally discuss the most recent events with our union.

Fortunately, I was on APC through the Cactus/USAirways merger, so I'm prepared for what stupid union infighting shenanigans can potentially look like.
This is right out of the APA playbook. I've seen how this movie ends.
