Spirit and Frontier to Merge

It's pretty early to tell but overall everyone the consensus seems positive:

-pilot group is relatively "similar" (F9 ~1700, NK ~2800)
-Contract is 90% similar (both have the same contract cycle and amendable date of March 2nd)
-Fleet, all Airbus (combined have 350+ aircraft on order?)
-Business model is the same

cons:
it's a merger so yeah...

BL just said grounschool that the new headquarters will be in Orlando...

flame away

You think? Common fleet, similar business model, both unions represented by ALPA. Should be pretty smooth, assuming the DOJ signs off.
I was really talking about single operatingcertificates, merging maintence, reservation systems,
Loyalty programs etc etc etc

Hopefully we get the best of both contracts and keep making this a good place to work. Should be interesting times ahead.

The spirit and frontier pilot contracts are nearly identical outside of some ancillary work rules and the business models are the same. Both companies have hired explosively in the last 5 years and career progression at the two should be similar. As long as the merge doesn’t get blocked by the federal gumint, i think an integration will be less painful than mergers of the past. I hope I’m not coming across as naive. There will certainly been bumps along the way.

Do both companies have a merger clause (or whatever its called) in their CBA?

Hopefully we get the best of both contracts

i haven’t done a merger, but I’ve done a bankruptcy and several concessionary contract negotiations. I feel qualified to present this:

Junior captain at both airlines were hired the same day. Pretty wild.
those lists aren't 100% accurate when it comes to seat...

yeah that's me on the F9 list...although there are about 30 more that are in training/sims/OE that are still listed as an FO until they finish their 434 ride and line check. (so June/July 2018 is the most JR at F9)

Not really surprised. I’ve long said the next merger was going to be among the ULCCs. F9, NK, or Alleigant.

“ Spirit investors will receive 1.9126 shares of Frontier plus $2.13 in cash for each Spirit share they own. The companies say the deal implies a value of $25.83 per Spirit share, which would be a 19% premium over the value of Spirit shares at the end of last week. “

When VX was bought, it was cash out at 57/share. It doesn’t look like it’s the same way here?

What does this mean as a SAVE stockholder? Receive 1.9126 shares of frontier? That’s if you own 1 SAVE share you get 1.9126? And an additional 2.13/cash per share?

I got 1,150 SAVE shares. Trying to see what this all implies.
By all means let’s figure out @Cherokee_Cruiser’s stock portfolio for him.
We can worry about the members of this community whose careers are directly impacted by this some other time.
You are the worst kind of person.
