Airbus A322

Airbus is currently shopping a stretch of the A321 dubbed the A322, with an all-new wing around to airlines. Probably to combat Boeing's future NMA, which is still a thing apparently. The three major engine makers are currently designing new engine options for a secret new Boeing plane. In hopes of being the exclusive engine maker for the new plane.

So, naturally after yet another new stretch and not a brand new design. I'm highly anticipating some Airbus ribbing from the JC crew, regarding Airbus's lack of innovation and all other things also said about the Boeing 737.

Yeah, right? Right? :D

They put EIVMUs between the engines and the rest of the aircraft on the NEO and I don't like it.

I'm not giving Airbus a pass on trying to "Boeing" their single-aisle jet, but maybe the concept of strict type ratings for crews is antiquated.

The original A320 was engineered and intended to be stretched and shortened, the 737? Nope. At least not to what it has been today.

737 has done fine overall. Sure, the -900 is a bit much, but the 400/800 for stretch, 300/700 for regular, and 100/200/500/600 for short fuselage, have all done fine and been very successful.

Even then, I don't think anyone can really call the -900 unsuccessful.

Eh... Does it pay good $$$? Will I have decent seniority? Can I hold xxx base? As I age Im just caring less about the jet and more about those kinds of questions.
All true, but as I age I also care about my comfort and hearing. So given the choice, it's a no brainer.

it’s indeed successful, it just pushes the line of how much the basic airframe can be stretched. But it’s indeed successful I would definitely agree with you.

I don't think anyone complains about the wing on the 737...

For the NG and Max, it’s nice not being restricted to FL370 or lower.
